Judith D. Jackson, 82, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. She was born December 27, 1939 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Jerry and Marjorie (Johnson) Cortes. Judy was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1956 and enjoyed reading and playing Bunco with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Jackson in 2012, brother, Timothy Cortes, and sister, Beverly Snyder. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Jackson; brothers, Jerry (Judy) Cortes, Gilbert (Debbie) Cortes; sisters, Janet (Roger) Gettemy, Donna Vincent, Marjorie Steele and Claudine (Gary) Gulasky; and several nieces and nephews. Sandy (Sandra) L. Zelno

Sandy (Sandra) L. Zelno, 74, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Scranton, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 16, 2022 at her home.  She was born September 20, 1947 and was raised by her grandmother, uncles and aunt. Sandy was an advocate for children, served as a State Certified Lobbyist for the Education Law Center, where she was an expert in public school state funding reform and co-founded the PA School Reform Project.   Also as an expert in school funding, she played a critical role in getting the state to do a costing out study for public education.  This study continues to be relied upon as the battle for an adequate and equitable continuous in PA state courts and in the legislature.  Previously she worked for Mon Valley Education Consortium and Norwin School District.  She served with the PTA on the local and state level and was regional vice president of the National PTA Chapter and past president of the state PTA. She also served as the state and national parliamentarian for the PTA. Locally she had been involved with Girl Scouts, Norwin Public Library and Norwin Band Aides. She was preceded in death by her uncles, Eugene Squires and Gordon Hughes; aunt, Alice Hughes, cousin, Gordon Hughes Jr., brothers-in-law John Galeano  and Mitch Zelno and his wife Rosanne.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Nicholas Zelno; daughter, Sherry Zelno; cousins, with whom she was raised, Martha Hughes Neary, Nancy Hughes Hodanich and Eugene Hughes;  Gordon's wife, Mary Ann Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.  Also survived by sisters-in-law, Frances Heaney and Gene, Marilyn (Rich) Charsky, and Denice Galeano.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Jane Inks

G. Jane Inks, 77, of Irwin, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born on October 6, 1944, in Gallitzin, PA to Ralph and Genevieve Ratchford and was the last of eight children all of whom preceded her in death. Married to Rev. Paul Inks on July 28, 1962. Jane passed just 2 weeks shy of their 60th anniversary. They have two children – Karen (Scott) Casturo of North Canton, OH and Keith (Marcy) Inks of Waterford, PA. She was the grandmother of eight: Chelsey (Brice) Burner, Scott (Caroline) Casturo, Ashton (Kevin) Crowl, Tiffany (Brock) Himmelheber, Jessica (Joseph) McIntire, Casey (Tyler) Alexander, Jacob Inks and Callie Inks; and eleven great grandchildren.

Active in Christian life and ministry; She was the organist in her home church for several years, an accomplished pianist, choir member in several churches, led children’s choirs, rang bells in bell choirs, taught third and fourth grade Sunday School classes, did clown ministry, was a Bible school teacher / leader, served on the conference family ministry team, was on the District Committee on Superintendency, and served on the Meals on Wheels Board in the 1970’s. Jane was a den mother for Cub Scouts, loved gardening and bird watching. She enjoyed artwork, ceramics and doing cross-stitching spending countless hours creating beautiful quilts and Christmas stockings for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff on 2AB at Westmoreland Hospital who were very compassionate and kind during her stay. They all said she was a favorite patient because she was so friendly and kind to everyone. Which is no surprise because everyone who knew her felt the same way about this loving woman.

Edward R. Koncerak, 62, of Irwin passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022.  He was born February 9, 1960 in Wilkinsburg, a son of Catherine (Crans) Koncerak and the late Robert S. Koncerak. Prior to his retirement, Edward was a draftsman in the building industry.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, an Eagle Scout, and enjoyed painting, drawing and spending time with his brothers.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Elena; brothers, Robert D. (Carol) Koncerak, William F. (Betsy) Koncerak and Kenneth G. (Adrienne) Koncerak.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Louis Caputo

Louis Caputo, age 94 of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022 in Greensburg, PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 plus years Frances (Sage) Caputo, daughter Laurin (Greg) Colner of Surf City, NC, son James Caputo of North Huntingdon, PA and his two loving grandchildren Elizabeth Colner of Raleigh, NC and Matthew Colner of Charlotte, NC. He was preceded in death by parents Anna Vacco and James Caputo and sister Theresa Bochicchio. Lou joined the Navy at 17 and was a World War II veteran. Upon his return home from the war, he was co-owner of an Appliance/HVAC installation business. In the late 1960’s, he changed careers and joined Matt’s Furniture (North Versailles, PA) as a Salesman until he retired. In the late 1970’s he took up golf and became passionate about the game. Over the years he accumulated 3 “Holes In One” and he shot his age at 85. Lou was a true Pittsburgh sports fan and loved his Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. One of his famous sayings was “What are you gunna to do?”. His family used to call him Mr. Fixit as he had a propensity to fix anything that broke. His charisma, beautiful smile, stories, and wit will never be forgotten. A celebration of Lou’s life is being scheduled for a later date. Elizabeth R. Milcheck, age 91, of Peachtree City, Georgia, formerly of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, July, 8, 2022. 

She was born on September 3, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, the only child of the late Rudolph and Anna Rehak, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Milcheck and her daughter, Janis E. Kurtz.  Elizabeth is survived by her children, Lauren Cooper of Boynton Beach, FL, Gregory Milcheck (Donna) of Fayetteville, GA, and Gary Milcheck (Christine) of Blairstown, NJ, grandchildren, Stephanie Cooper of Denver, CO, Jennifer Cooper-Gamboa (Ignacio) of Boynton Beach, FL, Daniel Milcheck (Shelby) of Roswell, GA, Christina Milcheck of Athens, GA, Adam Kurtz of Jacksonville, FL, Melissa Kurtz of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Kurtz of Jacksonville, FL, Keri Ann Kurtz of Jacksonville, FL, and step-grandson, Austin Strub of Blairstown, NJ. 

She had a wide range of office experience in law, medicine, insurance, engineering, American Bridge Co, nursing homes and sales.  She was an avid reader, knitter and volunteered extensively.

Dennis W. Peer Sr., 68, of Greensburg, passed away July 6, 2022. He was born May 20, 1954 in
Wilkinsburg, a son of the late R. Wayne and Gladys (Gongaware) Peer. Dennis was self- employed as a meter technician and a veteran of the US Air Force. Dennis was a graduate of Trafford High School class of 1973 and a member of Adamsburg VFD Social Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, his Corvettes and muscle cars in general. He also enjoyed car and air shows shows and loved his Boston Bull Terriers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Beth. He is survived by his son, Dennis Peer Jr. and his wife, Darcy; daughter, Kaitlin Peer; sister, Connie (John) Barra; granddaughter, Annabelle. Rebecca Dakin, 64, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. She was born November 1, 1957 in McKeesport, daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Dorothy (Kondrich) Dakin. Before her retirement, Rebecca taught at Penn Hills High School, where she was named Teacher of the Year. She was a member of the Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Becky was a passionate teacher, a master quilter, and a trusted mentor. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her siblings, Deborah, Loretta, and Lloyd Dakin. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on July 13, 2022 at 11 am at Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3380 Nehrig Hill Road, Ardara, PA 15615. Jennifer “Jen” Leah Borgo, 41, of Virginia, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born March 2, 1981, in Pittsburgh, daughter of Robert, Jr. and Roberta (Orendorff) Borgo of Greensburg, PA. Jen graduated from Hempfield Area High School, Class of 1999 and went on to earn her Bachelor degrees in both Political Science and Psychology from Penn State University. She also attended Duquesne School of Law and was known as a great debater. Her last position was a sales and marketing representative for a communications company. Jen loved entertaining the children of family and friends. She also enjoyed her previous positions with Family Behavioral Resources as Therapeutic Support Staff and Administrator for children with special needs. As an advocate for meaningful causes, she was a fundraiser for Autism Speaks. Prior to her relocation to Virginia, she was employed at The Firepit Wood Fired Grill in Irwin. She had a love for animals and liked pet sitting for others. Jen was often strong willed and her persistence, resilience, leadership, and organizational skills enabled her to be successful in all of her endeavors. Her thoughtfulness, kindness, and loving heart were apparent to all who knew her. Jen is survived by her fiancé, Scott May, Spotsylvania, VA; parents; brother, Robert Borgo III, Pittsburgh, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Elaine Mays, 88, of North Huntingdon passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at William Penn Care Center, Jeannette.  She was born October 25, 1933 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Benson) Ohs.  She was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1951 and worked for Immels Department Store in the cosmetics department.  Elaine was a long time member of The First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir, Cathedral Bells and soloist for many years.  Painting had been a fun hobby and she was a member of the Norwin Art League.  She loved traveling to numerous countries with her loving husband.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, William Mays Jr. and son, Dale Mays.  She is survived by her daughter, Renee Martz and her husband, Robert; grandson, Brett Martz (Addie); granddaughter, Heather (Mike) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emma, Mats, Baylor and Nash. Angeline H. Drop, 103, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at The Grove, N. Huntingdon. She was born, May 12, 1919 in Pleasant Valley, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Breznik) Milharsic. Angeline was owner and operator of Lake Lawn Park Par 3 and Mini Golf and a member of SNPJ Lodge 87. She was a good baker and an excellent seamstress and enjoyed Polka dancing. She was a kind and giving person who had a gentle heart and incredible patience. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Drop. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Radakovich and her husband, Daniel of North Huntingdon, and Karen Drop of Arizona; grandchildren, Leigh Radakovich of Irwin, Jon Radakovich of Washington DC, Nicole (Jay) Smith of Blacksburg, VA, Angie Smith of Philadelphia; beloved great-grandchildren, Nicolaus Aboud, Aden Torchia and Evan Smith. Carolyn E. Verosky, 75, of North Huntingdon passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at UPMC East.  She was born March 11, 1947 in Braddock, a daughter of the late John U. and Mildred (Beilhart) Newton.  Carolyn was a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking her children's favorite meals, going out to dinner with family and friends, visiting the casinos, and was a huge Steelers fan.  Carolyn loved her cat, Maxx and her, dog, Zoey and taking walks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Murdeen Newton. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Andrea) Verosky, Victor Verosky; daughter, Christine Verosky; brother, Ian Newton; sister, Catherine Costa; four grandchildren, Jessica Doty, Victoria Verosky, Alexandra Verosky and Olivia Verosky; great-grandchild, Avery; and ex-husband, Robert Verosky.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Walter F. "Walt" Crosswaite, 92, of North Huntingdon, formerly of DuBois, Pa., passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at his home.  Born September 14, 1929 in DuBois, he was the eldest child of Walter and Blanche Crosswaite.  Following his graduation from Sandy High School, Walter served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Japan.  After his retirement from Consolidated Natural Gas in 1994, Walter shared his love of God and southern gospel music by traveling to numerous churches throughout western Pennsylvania.  He was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene.  He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh sports teams.  He was the proud papa to his three grand puppies, Tyberious, Ziva and Morgan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Royer), daughter, Lesa, and brothers, Earl, Leon and Ronald.  He is survived by his son, David; brother, Jack; and sister, Betty.  Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Charles I. Fazio

CHARLES I FAZIO of North Huntingdon, PA died June 19, 2022. He was born January 28, 1937, in
Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Charles R. Fazio and Frances Sirianni.
Chuck graduated from Munhall High School, class of 1955, where he was a stand-out wrestler.
Following graduation, he went into the Army Reserves. Upon his arrival home he went to work for
Kroger’s Grocery store for 35 years and then worked for Daily’s Juice Company and in his retirement
year’s Bettis Atomic Laboratory in West Mifflin.
Chuck was predeceased by his wife Madelon E. Fazio of 47 years. Surviving are his daughters Celeste
(Steve) Spanitz, Carla (Bill) Pratt and grandchildren Amber (Paul) Czyz, Nicholas Pratt, Gina (Rider)
Dinnen and Great Grandchildren Brighton and Beckham Czyz.
Chuck was lucky to find love again with Marlene P. Fazio for 14 years. He was loved by her children,
Douglas (Michelle) Kukta, Robert (Suzanne) Kukta, grandchildren Isabella, Matthew, and Lily Kukta. He
also loved his and Marlene’s dog Marco.
Chuck was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his friends. He was also
an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon.
Chuck loved his large family, brothers and sisters include Anthony Fazio (deceased) his wife Janet, Frank
(Gloria-deceased) Fazio, Glenn (Barb) Fazio, Cheryl (Bill) Delaney, Michelle (Bill) Sawyer, Greg (Vickie)
Fazio, Bev (Tom) Keller and many nieces and nephews.
He also cherished time spent with his best friend’s Sam and Phyllis Aiello.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay
Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,
June 25th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in North Huntingdon, PA.
