Milan John "Mel" Kesser, Jr., 65, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021. He was born May 5, 1956 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Milan John Kesser, Sr.  and Rosemary M. (McKay) Kesser Gerondites.  Milan was a faithful and devoted member of St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon.  He worked as a cab driver and also for the former National Tube in McKeesport.  Mel was a very religious and spiritual person who would pray for the world and for those who passed away everyday.  He was an excellent caregiver for his mother, Rosemary who recently passed away April 12, 2021.  He was also a member of the McKeesport Dartball League.

Jonah Hercules Fite, 43, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2021. Jonah was born on January 12, 1978 in Mexico City, Mexico. He was the son of James Mitchell Fite and Lucinda Brewer Fite McHolme. His young life was spent living and attending schools in State College, Elizabeth and later Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. After one year at State High, Jonah spent his sophomore year of high school studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico before returning to the U.S. and graduating from Elizabeth Forward High School in Elizabeth Township, PA in 1996. An honors student and men’s varsity soccer athlete, Jonah went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University where he majored in International Business and Spanish. Jonah was a proud Brother of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity at CMU, as well. After being diagnosed with mental illness in 1998, Jonah was in a constant battle for his mental health and well-being. In the years that followed, Jonah selflessly donated his time helping others who suffered from similar afflictions.

Michael Alwin Bill, 58, of White Oak, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born October 8, 1962 in McKeesport and was the son of Alwin Michael and Barbara (Epolito) Bill of Port Vue. Michael was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township. He was an Electrical Engineer and had previously worked for Bechtel-Bettis. He loved music and played guitar and harmonica. He enjoyed shooting and fishing and spending time with his parents, daughters, sister and his favorite dog Dylan.

Michael loved learning and creating. He enjoyed making others laugh and bringing joy to those around him. As is a tale, so is a life: Not how long it is, but How good it is, is what matters as we celebrate Mike's life and send him home,  Let us reflect on his favorite song by Bobby Bare- "Drop kick me Jesus, through the goal posts of life   End over end, neither the left or the right Straight through the hearts of them righteous uprights  Drop kick me Jesus through the goal posts of life".

]Doris Jean Wergin, 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born December 1, 1929 in Clairton and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Geci) Kayda. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Wergin who passed away in 2012.

Doris and her husband Bob enjoyed wintering every year in Florida  and coming home to Pennsylvania for their summertime gardening. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Angela Church and the former Keener Citizens there. Before becoming a homemaker, Doris worked in the Accounting Dept. of the former US Steel National Tube Works, McKeesport.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Dr. Gregory Bittner of Greensburg, grandson, Dr. Robert Bittner of Somerset, sisters, Joyce Constant and Mary and her husband Ed Jensen of CA, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Suty and Alice Pastore and brothers, Steve and Ernest Kayda.

She was born May 25, 1926 in Port Vue and was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Wulezyski) Piesik. She was married to the late Paul Martin Bendik, Sr., who passed away April 10, 2001 for 54 years. Marie was a member of St. Michael Church (St. Joachim and St. Anne Parish), in Elizabeth Township, the McKeesport Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Christian Mothers and the Youghiogheny Country Club. She enjoyed bowling, YCC women’s golf league, the Steelers, caring for all, and oldsmobiles (Don’t Say Olds, Say Bendik Olds!). She is survived by her daughters, Marianne Case of Cortland, OH, and Colette (David) Grayson of Leland, NC, brother, Albert (Angela) Piesik of McKeesport, grandchildren, Kelsey, Steven and Samantha Case, Brooke (Chris) Oldham, Morgan, Chase, and Sierra Bendik, David (Courtney) Grayson, and Marisa (Steven) Bigelow, great-grandchildren, Nathan and Charlie Grace Oldham, and nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Martin Bendik, Jr., son-in-law, William Case, sisters, Victoria Elak and Louise Hatalovich and brother, Edward Piesik. Paul Edward Runge, 78, of White Oak, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at home. He was born January 16, 1943 in Boston, PA and was the son of the son of the late Edward L. and Catherine (Faye) Runge. Paul worked as an electrician for the former US Steel in Christy Park and General Dynamic.  He was a former member of the MOOSE club in Elwood City and enjoyed model trains.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and avid NASCAR fan, most notably Mark Martin in the number 6 car.  He is survived by his wife, Carol L. (Knox) Runge, sons, Gregory Runge of Groton, CT and David Paul Runge of White Oak, daughters, Michele Renee Smedberg (Fiancé Chris Mirante) of Norwich, CT, and Carrie Lynn (Randy) Olsen of Waterford, CT, grandchildren, Chelsea, Jonathan and Ashley, great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Paisley, brother, Bernard Runge and sisters, Dorrine Miller and Faye Ann Pellasce, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Paul was preceded in death by his son, Neal Alan Runge, grandson, Nathan, sisters, Mary Alice Skroupski and Marlene Corazzelli and brother, Raymond Runge. Frank Michael "Fortunato" Maglicco, 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at home. He was born June 9, 1940 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William "Bull" and Kathleen (Naugle) Maglicco. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Youngstown State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Kappa/ Theta Xi and The University of Pittsburgh.  Frank retired after 37 years as a teacher, most tenured at AIU and was also was safety director and a truck driver for Schlessinger Trucking.  He was an active and faithful member of St. Mary's Romanian Church in McKeesport. Frank was head guard and manager of Renzie pool, and very active in athletics. He played football for McKeesport High School, coached football and wrestling at Serra Catholic High School and coached wrestling at South Allegheny High School. He loved visiting friends and fishing at his cabin in Bedford County.
