Evelyn "Nana" Putz age 98, of Pickerington, OH, formally of McKeesport, died October 16, 2022, at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. Born September 30, 1924, in Homestead, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Wesoloski and the wife of the late Andrew A. Putz for 44 years.
Evelyn retired from Franklin's Market as a cashier. She graduated from Homestead High School. Evelyn was a former member of St. Mary Czestochowa Parish and helped with Sunday School for over 20 years. She was an avid reader of short stories and enjoyed doing the NY Times crossword puzzles.

Bernard A. "Bernie" Carrozza

Bernard A. "Bernie" Carrozza age 89, of McKeesport, died October 15, 2022, peacefully at his home. Born January 12, 1933, in the 3rd Ward of McKeesport, he was the son of the late Luciano and Colomba (Sica) Carrozza and the husband of 61 years to the late Joanna (DiVirgilio) Carrozza.
After graduating from McKeesport High School in 1950, Bernie enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. Bernie advanced rapidly through the ranks, being promoted to Staff Sergeant in just three years. While on leave, Bernie was introduced to Joanna and they married in October 1954. After receiving his honorable discharge, Bernie earned an Associate Engineering Degree in Electrical Technology at Pennsylvania State University. He continued evening school at Duquesne University and Carnegie-Mellon University to earn his Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Physics while working different jobs until he went to work for the U. S. Steel Corp. Bernie retired after 30 years of service from the U. S. Steel, Christy Park Works as a Manager of Commercial Sales. Bernie was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church. He was an active member of the Renzie Park Senior Club, the Palenese Club in McKeesport, the McKeesport High School Class of 1950 Reunion committee, and the Italian Sons and Daughters of America. Bernie was well known for his decades of club fundraising by selling the "Enjoy” coupon books. He enjoyed bringing his buddies together; he organized his famous "Bernie's Buddies" lunch's that were held once a month for 20 years. Bernie enjoyed playing Bocce Ball, spending winters in Florida with Joanna and old and new friends, going to cardiac rehab 3 times a week for 20 years, and listening to his favorite artists like, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, and Michael Bublé. Bernie’s passion was dancing, and, he was always known as a wonderful dancer. He and Joanna enjoyed going dancing regularly over the years with their life-long friends. Bernie believed his greatest accomplishments were his wife and family and always being gainfully employed.

Edward G. Tirk, age 81, of North Huntingdon, died September 26, 2022, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born February 24, 1941, in Altus, OK, he was the son of the late George E. and Mary Jane (Larouere) Tirk and husband of Merry (Humphries) Tirk. 
Edward had a lucrative career with Kodak, touring the country as a Technical Sales Rep. After he retired from Kodak, he became Sales and Marketing Manager for Filmet. He served as Past President of the Norwin Lions. Ed was a motorcycle enthusiast, rode for many years, and was a member of the PA Spyder Riders. 
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by children, Eric (Christine) Tirk, Christopher (Christine) Tirk, and Natalie (John) Masten; grandchildren, Kailee Spaur and Savanna Tirk; sister, Diane (David) Owen; nephew, Daniel (Cara) Owen; great-nieces, Greta and Liv Owen; brother in law Robert Humphries: mother of his children and good friend, Patricia Tirk-Arena and his cat BooBoo. 
In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by a grandson, Simon, and a great-grandson, Leo.

Robert E. Babcock

Robert E. Babcock, age 95, of White Oak, died September 25, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.  Born September 13, 1927, in Massena, NY, he was the son of the late Emerson W. and Gertrude L. (Brown) Babcock. The husband of the late Beverly J. (Derouchie) Babcock and Patricia H. (Petach) Babcock.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 24 years spent primarily as a pilot and flight instructor.  He then went on to teach at Penn State University in McKeesport for 22 years in the Electrical Engineering Technology program.  Robert was a 72-year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, having been raised a Master Mason in 1950.  He was also a long-time member of the American Legion in White Oak and the Two Rivers Amateur Radio Club of the Monongahela and Yough River Valley.  He was an avid outdoorsman in his earlier years, and especially liked boating, fishing, and camping. He was technically inclined, so he always took very good care of his home, cars, radios, and computers; he was quick to offer a hand to others with theirs as well. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling around the country by RV and spending time with family.

Russell C. Foust, Sr., age 82, of White Oak, died September 25, 2022, at Transitions Healthcare North Huntingdon. Born July 19, 1940, in Latrobe, PA, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Rachel (Clair) Foust and the husband of Alice (Kocher) Foust for 51 years.
Russ retired from Laidlaw Transit, where he was a mechanic and driver. Before that, he worked at Westinghouse Electrical Corp. and Lockhart, where he was a machinist and crane operator at both places until they each went out of business. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 205 and 601 Electrical Workers Union. Russ was a member of the Faith Bible Baptist Church of Wilkins Twp. He was a lifelong member of the Rainbow Volunteer Fire Co. of White Oak. Russ took great pride in being able to help provide safety and peace of mind to his community. He enjoyed camping, cars, and, most of all, being a mechanic.

Kelli Ann Anderson, age 36, of Aurora, CO, died September 12, 2022, at home. Born January 26, 1986, in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of Martin (Beverly) Linn and Mary Linn and the wife of John Anderson.
Kelli worked in Human Resources for Papa John's Pizza. She was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 2004, and a McKeesport Tiger Cheerleader and Captain for four years; after graduation, she continued on as the cheerleader coach. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Penn State. Kelli was a former member of Mary, Mother of God Parish and attended St. Angela Merici Church as a child. She enjoyed football and anything water related. Kelli was a former member of the White Oak Swim Team and a former White Oak Falcons Cheerleader as a child and then coached in her early years. She also participated in gymnastics at Millers' Gym Stars USA Gymnastics School in McKeesport. Kelli was a dog lover and enjoyed traveling the world, especially anywhere near a beach. She obsessively collected and followed anything Baby Yoda.
In addition to her husband, Kelli is survived by her step-children, Ryan and Elizabeth Anderson; mother and father-in-law, Patricia Menick and Gary Anderson; also her beloved Bulldogs, Katie and Louis.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Staci Marie Linn.
Family and friends may be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m., at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St Angela Merici Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow in McKeesport Versailles Cemetery.

Elizabeth "Betty" Sivak

Elizabeth "Betty" Sivak, age 86, of White Oak, died September 15, 2022, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born July 8, 1936, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late John and Amelia (Yurjevsic) Poje and wife of Donald J. Sivak for 63 years.  
Betty worked as an Operator with Bell Telephone and then as a Greeter at K-Mart in North Versailles.  She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church and a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.  Betty created many crafts and ceramics which adorned her home for different seasons and holidays.  She traveled to craft shows to explore what other vendors had made and to search for new ideas.  She belonged to a card club with a  group of friends, who would gather at local restaurants to play and enjoy each other's company.

Patricia H. Babcock, age 88, of White Oak, died September 12, 2022, at UPMC East Hospital of Monroeville. Born December 27, 1933, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Buckiso) Petach and the wife of Robert E. Babcock.
Patricia worked throughout her life as a nurse retiring from Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, mostly working at Magee Womens Hospital where she was an accomplished Nursing Director for many years. She was a member of The St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of McKeesport. Patricia was also a member of the Pittsburgh Literacy Council and was a board member for many nursing organizations.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, cooking, and participating in church events throughout her lifetime.

John Joseph “Jack” Rahaw

On September 2, 2022, God called Home his faithful servant and son, John Joseph “Jack” Rahaw, 87, of Manassas, VA.  Born October 11, 1934, in East Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Ann (Salatney) Rahaw and the husband of the late Genevieve Michelle (Yasofsky) Rahaw for more than 50 years. 
Jack retired from Georator Corporation after 35 years as an electrical engineer, during which time he helped develop the electrical grid for the country of Bahrain.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving six years in both the United States and (West) Germany as a field artilleryman in the 3rd Infantry Division.  Jack was also an alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University. Jack will forever be remembered for his unending generosity, his complete and total faith in God, his kind and loving nature and his gift of extreme intelligence.  He will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Barbara worked at Bell Telephone Company as a keypunch operator until she started her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church. She enjoyed attending bingo, although her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

E. Richard Kolesar, age 90, of East McKeesport, died September 4, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born June 25, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael and Susan (Hudak) Kolesar and husband of the late Rita Yvonne Kolesar for over 55 years.
Richard retired from Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission (now the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission) as a Senior Traffic Engineer. He served in the United States Army during periods of the Korean and Vietnam wars, in both active and reserve status, with recognition of the National Defense Service Medal. Richard's military rank was First Lieutenant in the Field Artillery Branch. Throughout his life, he lived Army Strong and was a Soldier for Life. Richard was a McKeesport High School graduate and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University, graduating in 1954. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. In his free time, Richard enjoyed reading and collecting books, especially on the subject of history. He enjoyed animals, wildlife, hiking, and the mountains. His family finds peace in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Rita, and his savior Jesus Christ.

Stella was also a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and entertaining.
