Daryl Juno Newby, 71, of Duquesne, was born January 10, 1953, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rester and Eula Stephens Smith. Daryl was the youngest of seven siblings.

Daryl departed this life on September 15, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport, PA. Her passing was exactly seven years later, the same day as the love of her life. This would be the completion of their beautiful love story.

Daryl attended school at the Duquesne School District where she graduated. She was employed at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in the Dietary Department, and she was a former member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Duquesne, PA. Daryl loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by them all.

Beverly Joyce Wolfe, 81, of Elizabeth Township, went to be with her Lord, early Sunday morning, September 29, 2024.She was born February 7, 1943 in McKeesport and was  the only child of the late Raymond "Red" Lewis Wolfe  and Elizabeth Jean (Miller)Wolfe. Beverly lived in Elizabeth Township near her large extended family. She was a 1961 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and attended Round Hill Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School. After High School, Beverly attended Mansfield State Teachers College in North Central and was also employed by G. C. Murphy Company at the time.

She was a retired secretary for Dean Honda in West Mifflin and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth. Born September 25, 1943, in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late Walton and Sylvia (Jones) Sharpnack. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Tignanelli; sons, Timothy (Colleen) Tignanelli of Uniontown, Troy Tignanelli of Columbus, OH and Thomas Tignanelli of Gunnison, CO; grandchildren, Andrew Tignanelli, Anthony (Teri) Tignanelli, Devin (Angela) Tignanelli and Sarah Tignanelli; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Audrianna and Jackson Tignanelli and Lucy Goroncy; sister, Mona Pungitore of Elizabeth Twp.; also, nieces and nephews. Born in McKeesport on February 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Kazimer and Mary Ann (Matykiewicz) Kustra. She was a retired nurse from McKeesport Hospital, a graduate of the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing, and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Agnes Church, West Mifflin.

Nancy was the wife of the late Joseph O. Colella; mother of Joseph W. (Carol) Colella of Cumming, GA, James C. (Beverly) Colella of Port Orange, FL and the late Jack T. Colella; grandmother to 6 granddaughters including the late Angela Colella; great grandmother to 9 great grandchildren; sister of Rita Mae Visco and predeceased by brother and sisters Theresa Dudek, Annette Knoll, Marie Kustra, Alex Kustra and Helen Kustra.

Michael “Sam” Gouker, 65, of Glassport died Saturday September 28, 2024. He is the son of the late Melvin and Kathleen (Desio) Gouker. He is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie Gouker; son Michael Sam (Ashley) Gouker II; daughters Amber Marie Gouker and Alexis Ann Gouker; grandchildren Mikey and Kaylee; brothers Mel, Al, and Charlie, and sisters Nadine and Toni Lynn; and many nieces and nephews. Michael was a member of Post 443 American Legion, Clairton Legion Post 75, and VFW Post 803. He was also in the carpenter’s union as well as an avid golfer and bowler. Friends will be received Wednesday at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home from 2-8pm. A funeral mass will be held Thursday 11am at Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church, White Oak.

He is survived by his beloved fiance Melissa Esper; son Blake Edwards; mother of Blake Tara Braddock; brother Daniel Mawritz; sister Alina Mawritz; step-children Delaney, Lucy, and Sammy Esper; and many extended friends and relatives who loved him deeply. 

Jared was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved nature, riding his quad, and spending time in the woods, especially in his tree stand. He was very passionate about music, Pittsburgh sports, and his family. He was a successful construction worker dedicated to his business that he built.

Michael Joseph Arena, 58, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his home in Irwin.

Born in McKeesport on December 4, 1965, he was the youngest son of Joseph & Dolores (Massung) Arena. 

Mike was a graduate of West Mifflin High School Class of 1984. A retired paramedic and firefighter, Mike enjoyed spending his time with family and his four-legged little buddy, Bubba.

Mike is survived by his fiancé Tina Marie Link of Irwin; daughter Samantha Arena of West Mifflin; stepson David Michael Link of Shaler; brothers and sister-in-law Joseph & Laura Arena of Washington, PA and John Arena of Bayville, New Jersey; his aunts Kathleen Germanoski and Lorraine Arena; and his sisters-in-law Cindy (Ed) Sharik of Cranberry and Lousie (Jimmy) Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was born February 18, 1930 in Scott Haven, PA, a daughter of the late Andy and Jennie Stepaniak Koshar. Cecelia was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon and a long time member of the Emerald Club where she served as the president for several years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the Deli manager for Super Dollar in White Oak and later was employed by Shop and Save in the meat department. Cecelia was an avid Steeler fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cheravich, and a brother William Koshar, She is survived by her loving daughter, Joann Bazanos and her husband Pete, step daughter, Denise Davis and her husband Wesley, one brother, Andy Koshar, 4 grandchildren, Olivia and Julia Bazanos, Wesley Davis (Crystal), Christopher Davis (Cindy), 6 great grandchildren, Peyton, Ava, Alyssa, Kylie, Carson, Vanessa, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cindy Lou (Albright) Dixon Albright, age 70, of Liberty Borough, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Forbes Hospital. She was a retired nursing assistant at Jefferson Hospital and Kane Community Living Center – McKeesport, and was a former school bus driver. She was a member of Greenock United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp. where she was very active. Born May 12, 1954 in Lincoln Borough, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Sarah K. (Albright) Gephart. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ray L.H. Albright; sons, James A. Dixon of McKeesport and Edward L. (Nicole) Dixon of Elizabeth Twp.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Ray (Lori) Gephart of Lincoln Borough; also, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. No visitation is planned. A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10 AM in Greenock United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dorothy E. Frisch, age 97, of Baldwin, died at home of natural causes on September 14, 2024.  Born September 4, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Larz and Dagney (Gafvert) Frisch.
Dorothy dedicated years of service to Bell Atlantic, starting as a telephone operator and retiring as a Supervisor, leaving a legacy of hard work.  She loved to travel and took a great interest in her community. A compassionate soul, Dorothy deeply loved animals, particularly cats.  She spent her free time fostering kittens from the Humane Society, spreading joy and comfort to those in need.
