Susan Ellen Nordine, age 79, of Port Vue, died September 20, 2019, at Eldercrest Nursing Center of Munhall. Born July 16, 1940, in Versailles Borough, she was the daughter of the late Earl Ward and Hazel Elizabeth Ellen (Whitehouse) Morgan and the wife of the late John E. Nordine.
Susan worked at the former Parkvale Bank and Dollar Bank, both of McKeesport. In her early years, she worked at the former G.C. Murphy Co. Susan enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and baking. She was a big Pittsburgh Pirate fan also. Her greatest joy, was spending time with her grandchildren.

(Amanda) Hatfield of Washington; daughter Kristin (David) Haines of Oakdale; and grandchildren Sydney and Gabriel Haines.

Herman A. Haase,  89, of White Oak, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 22, 2019. He was born December 19, 1929 in Uniontown and was the son of the late Herman Haase, Jr, and the late Florence (Baker) Haase. Herman was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in White Oak where he was an Adult Sunday School Teacher for 40 years and also served on the church council and budget committee.  He was  a member of  the Bell Pioneers, McKeesport Kiwanis Club and served on the board of directors of the Peter's Foundation. He was a life member and volunteer for the McKeesport Meals on Wheels. Herman was a retired business office manager for the former Bell of Pennsylvania in McKeesport and was a US Army Veteran.

Jane M. (Crossen) McDermitt, age 73 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.  Born February 26, 1946 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. Crossen, Jr. and Mary (McDonnell) Crossen.  Attending Duquesne University, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, and CCAC, Jane retired as a registered nurse for McKeesport School District and was a member of both PSEA and NEA.  She was a devout woman and active with her Parish, St. Michael's in Elizabeth Twp., and also volunteered at Divine Redeemer Motherhouse in Elizabeth Twp. and sung with the choir at St. Patrick's Church in McKeesport.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. McDermitt, who passed away November 2, 2011.  She is survived by many who were lucky enough to call her their friend.

He was a maintenance supervisor and was former member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Russell loved locomotive and steam trains, and could tell you anything you could ever want to know on trains and their routes. He also enjoyed riding and fixing his street bike, and was always working on something. He loved all his nieces and nephews and picking on them unmercifully.

Conroy, 57, of Rillton, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019.  She was born June 10, 1962 in Jeannette, a daughter of Glenn and Jean (Clugsten) Minerva.  Carrie was a graduate of Hempfield Sr. High School, Class of 1980, and enjoyed baking, dancing and spending time with her family.  Carrie will be remembered for the immense love she had for her adoring family, and for her ability to light up a room with her smile. While her outer beauty was undeniable, it was her caring nature and selfless approach to life that allowed her beauty to shine inside and out. Family and friends will fondly share stories about her sticking up for her younger brothers, her willingness to take on anyone in an arm wrestling match, and the way she let loose on the dance floor. Her strength through the years is something to be admired and we know she will be remembered for it by every person her life touched...and for her amazing cookies.  She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Conroy; daughter, Heather Conroy and her husband, Travis Rohrbaugh; brothers, Glenn (Gina) Minerva and Mike Minerva; nieces and nephews, Colton, Alex and Emily.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

He was a graduate of McKeesport Area High School. He was a formerly employed with Caruso & Son Asphalt and Paving company. He also worked at United States Steel in Duquesne and previously Radisson Hotel of Monroeville.

James “Duane” was a devoted husband and loving father and protector to his daughters and sisters. He was blessed with two kidney transplants that allowed him to see the birth of three beautiful granddaughters, one born on his birthday. He loved teasing and playing with the girls, they were blessed to be able to spend a lot of quality time with their grandfather in his final days.

Irmer, Sr. and Dorothy (Lesniak) Irmer.  A retired millwright with US Steel - Irvin Works who also worked at LTV Steel, Joseph attended St. Angela Merici Parish in White Oak.  A selfless and strong man with an equally strong faith, his family will remember him as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years Christine M. (Gallagher) Irmer; his daughter Heather Jo (Matt) LiVorio of Cranberry; his sons Joseph J. Irmer, III, John A. Irmer, Gus Irmer, and Jimmy Irmer, all of White Oak; grandchildren Vincent, Anthony, and Matthew LiVorio; his siblings Dorothy "Binnie" Sterns of Olney, MD, Joann (Greg) Casile of Fox Chapel, and Francis (Mary) Irmer of Pymatuning; many nieces and nephews; and also his dog Montey, a.k.a Easy LaMont.

Born on November 1, 1926, in Samudovce, Slovakia, he was the son of the Late John and Elizabeth (Andrejo) Evans. Mr. Evans was a faithful member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, where he served as Cantor from 1972 until 2014. He also was a member of the Byzantine Catholic Archieparchial Choir of Pittsburgh, a retired Design Draftsman for the former U.S. Steel Corporation, Homestead Works, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. beloved husband of the Late Helen Mihalov Evans, he is survived by his loving children Daniel J. Evans (Elaine), Pamela A. Donkin (Wayne) and Patricia M. Weidman (Dennis); eight Grandchildren, Jennifer M. Magee (Shawn), Gregory D. Evans (Sarah), Nicholas J. She enjoyed attending Morning Star Baptist Church of Clairton, along with Sunday services at Carver Hall where she resided as often as her health allowed. Paula was a loving Homemaker for many years. Providing love, and peace to her family and the community. In her spare time she enjoyed to play bingo and card games with her family, and winding down her nights relaxing and enjoying the fun game of Candy Crush until she would fall asleep.
