Edgar Leo George, age 89 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Hempfield Manor Nursing Home, Greensburg.  Born May 17, 1931 in Pitcairn, he was a son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Bost) George.  A US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, Edgar retired as the sales manager at Hillview Motors in Greensburg.  He was also a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael's Church, in Elizabeth Twp., it's Usher's Club where he served as a past-president, and the VFW of McKeesport, #8430.  Besides his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Irene (Golick) George, who passed away March 28, 2020, and his siblings: Eugene George, Ruth Lattimore, Alice Waltz, Marian Hines, and Rita Schmidt.

Emma M. (Losteter) Poorman, age 84 of Spring Hill, FL and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Bayfront Health Center, Spring Hill.  Born February 26, 1937 in West Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Loretta (Andrews) Losteter.  A former member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin, Emma worked as a deli manager at Publix in Florida and formerly of the Cash and Carry, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #316 of Clairton.  Besides his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clair A. Poorman who passed  away November 8, 1997.  Emma is survived by her daughters Cheryl Smeal-Bush and Tracey (Dennis) Jenkins, both of Mulberry, FL; her son Scott (Melony) Poorman of Spring Hill, FL; her grandchildren Jennifer Parish, Stephanie LaForest, Jonathan Stockdill, Kevin and Katie Jenkins, Amanda Reid, and Colin Poorman; and her eight grandchildren.

Jason Wilson LaFrankie, age 49 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at home on Monday, April 19, 2021.  Born September 29, 1971 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Betty Jane "Janie" (Wilson) LaFrankie of Jefferson Hills and the late Robert Francis LaFrankie.  A member of St. Thomas a Becket Church, Jason is survived, besides his mother, by his sons Cooper William LaFrankie and Maddox Robert LaFrankie, both of Jefferson Hills, and their mother Toni (Malley) LaFrankie; his brothers R. He was a retired office clerk at Hercules in West Elizabeth and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth where he was the organist for the past 41 years. Eleanor Rose Zang, age 80 of Monroeville and formerly of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Forbes Hospital.  Born August 10, 1940 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Kovacs) Pfefferkorn.  A 1962 graduate of Duquesne University with a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry, Eleanor retired as a lab technician for the UPMC Hospital System.  She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, Elizabeth Twp, and was an accomplished knitter, even knitting voluntarily for the homeless.  In her spare time, she also loved to read, golf, watch NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and was a great animal lover.  Besides her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Raymond John Zang, who passed away August 13, 1982, and her siblings Irene Maley and Andrew Pfefferkorn.  She is survived by her children Mary (Rocco) Vadala of Brookfield, OH, Amie (Kevin) Finney of Mt. Vernon, Raymond G. (Kasey) Zang of White Oak, and Damien Zang of Elizabeth Twp.; her grandchildren Kaden, Austin, Kenadie, and Avarie Finney and Zavier and Ragan Zang; and also nieces and nephews.

Melvin W. Long, age 65 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  Born August 14, 1955 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Isaiah and Madeline (Graham) Long.  A graduate of South Allegheny High School and Pittsburgh Diesel Institute, Melvin spent many years  as an over-the-road truck driver.  He was also a former employee with Duquesne Slag and Riverlift in Elizabeth and spent his last ten years employed with LaFarge-Holcim in West Mifflin.  In his spare time, Melvin enjoyed fishing, watching his grandchildren play sports (especially football), attending parades watching his granddaughter as a majorette, and especially hosting Sunday family dinners.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, and a great friend.  Melvin is survived by his wife of thirty years Judith (Piasente) Long; his daughter Shayla of North Carolina; his stepchildren Randall (Ruth) Koontz of Donora, the late Anthony (Nicole) Koontz of Clairton, Christopher (Brenda) Koontz of Mt. Pleasant, and Brian (the late Erin) Koontz of Clairton; his siblings Marcella Kelton, Allen (Chris) Long, Glenda (Ben) Rainey, Ava Long, Angela (Yvonne) Long Beck, and Elaine Long; his grandchildren Krista, Bryson, Taafe, Morgan, and Taylor Koontz and Aaixa, Justen, Aiyah, Missouri, Furlando, and Oliviyah Long; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  Besides his stepson and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David Long, James Long, Vincent Long, and Isaiah "Jake" Long, Jr..

An Army veteran serving during the Cold War, he was a former electrical engineer for Medrad of Pittsburgh and attended Bunola Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed taking on-line courses in history and economics at Hillsdale College. He collected sports memorabilia, enjoyed watching the Pirates, Penguins and NASCAR, and listening to classic rock. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. Born May 21, 1965 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late George F. and Gloria J. (O'Brien) Charles. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Denise (Trumpie) Charles; daughters, Amber (Amos) Onyango of Penn Hills, Autumn (Julian) Wyldhart of San Diego, CA and Aryn (Dana) Hess of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Isaiah, Emma, Lara, Oliver, Adelaide, Lilienne, Rhys Scott (after his grandfather) and a soon-to-be eighth grandchild; grandpuppy, Cleo (Kiki); also, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Elrama United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the craft class making prayer shawls. She was also involved with the Jefferson Hills Board of Elections. Born June 10, 1945 in West Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Larry E. and Margaret L. (Parsons) Sutton. She is survived by her sister, Darla J. Hoagland of New Castle; nieces, Paula Heyman of Austin, TX and Crystal (Bryan) Heverly of West Point, NY; nephews, Craig Moore of Elizabeth and Wesley (Lisa) Hoagland of Bradenton, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Laurel Heyman and Marlene Moore. Friends will be received in the Paul E.
