Irene Barnett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Her life was shaped by devotion to family, a strong sense of humor, and the steady rhythms of daily care. Born on December 18, 1935, in the West Mifflin area of Pittsburgh, Irene was one of ten children of Cecelia and Gustav Seitz. She grew up in a bustling, close-knit household that shaped her enduring love of family. In 1962, she married William “Bill” Barnett, and the two shared 63 years together—building a life grounded in affection and laughter. Irene was a lover of books, flowers, and music. She enjoyed crime shows and time spent with family. A strong and steady mother, she created a home full of good soup and plenty of humor to go along with it. She and Bill enjoyed traveling in their retirement, taking several cruises and seeing new places together. Irene is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Barnett; her children Cathy, Tracy, and Brian; her grandchildren Trinity and Katalina; her sister Marion Barnett; and her brothers Ray and Tom Seitz. She was preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings. Her presence was a constant - a calm, loving foundation for those she cared for. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with lasting affection. A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, September 6, at 1 P.M at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. Mark George Remick, 94, of McKeesport,passed away peacefully Friday, August 29, 2025 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. He was born January 29, 1931 in Dravosburg and was the son of the late Mike and Stella (Rybacki) Uremovich. Mark was the husband of 62 years to the late Patricia S. (Needham) Remick, who passed away September 17, 2015. Mark was a US Army Veteran, who served in the Korean War. He finished his military service as a Corporal and for his service received The Korean War Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and The National Defense Service Award, amongst others. Upon completion of his military service, he would go on to work for Union Railroad for over 44 years, retiring as a foreman. After retirement from the railroad, he worked as a handyman for over 20 years. All of his life, if something was broke, he could fix it. Mark was a member of the former St. Pius Church in McKeesport, alongside his wife. Mark was a very curious man and questioned everything, even the existence of God. In his final days, Mark made the valuable and redeeming decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Mark had the gift of gab. He was member of the 11th Ward Club in McKeesport and also spent much time at local coffee shops, most notably Di's Kornerstone Diner and McDonalds, telling his stories and talking to friends. He was well known at The Rivers and Meadows Casino as well. He was well loved at The Grandview Estates of Elizabeth during his time there. He also loved to feed stray cats and was known to have a porch full of them at home. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend and will be greatly missed.

Greco, age 75 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Kane Regional Center - McKeesport.  Born November 28, 1949 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Concetta (Rizzo) Guzewicz.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish - St. Patrick's Church, Sandy loved to craft, bake her famous cookies, but most of all spend time with her grandchildren.  She is survived by her husband Thomas M. Greco; her sons Michael (Tammie Turner) Greco of Elizabeth Twp. and David (Annie) Greco of Canonsburg; her grandchildren Mackenzie, Samuel, and Madelaine; her stepchildren Anthony (Cara) Greco of Cincinnati, OH and Dana (Justin) Defonso of Boston, PA; her step-grandchildren Nevaeh, Jovanni, and Antoinette; her brother Allan (Cynthia) Guzewicz of White Oak; her nephews Shane, Blake (Hope), and Nathan (Taylor) Guzewicz; and her great-nieces-and-nephews Cole, Sophie, and Wesley.

James A. Deal, 79 of North Huntingdon passed away on August 29, 2025 at Redstone Highlands Greensburg. He was born on July 4, 1946 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Harry and Ruth Barrett Deal. Jim was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed computers, cars and social media. In addition to his parents, he  was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Moore Deal in 2024, a brother, Harry Deal, two sisters, Marjorie Trapp and Kathryn Grant. Nancy J. Tacsik, age 78, of Glassport, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Martin de Porres Church in McKeesport. She was a former pharmacy tech at Mann's Drugstore for about 20 years and a bank manager at First Commonwealth Bank for 40 years. She attended Robert Morris Jr. College, the American Banking Institute, and Community College of Allegheny County South Campus. She liked to travel, enjoyed working, was a manager for a girls’ softball team, and liked the Steelers and Pirates, bowling and tennis. She was a treasurer for the Downtown McKeesport Association, a board member of the Kiwanis Club of McKeesport, the Steel Valley Opportunities Industrialization Center, the Regional Business Alliance/Mon Yough Chamber of Commerce where she was also on the Membership Service Committee, the Salvation Army, the YWCA where she was also treasurer, and Womansplace. She was a member of the UPMC McKeesport Hospital Women’s Committee, the Women of Achievement, Glassport Library, American Heart Association, and the Mon Yough Realtors Association. Born November 3, 1946 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mildred (Shandor) Tacsik. She is survived by nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Tasik. No visitation is planned. A committal service will take place in the chapel at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Monroeville on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Edwin J. Wickman officiating. (Thompson) Foster.  A former member of the Mentor Road Bible Church in Forward Twp., David retired as a bus driver for Port Authority.  He was a huge fan of Kennywood, especially riding the Thunderbolt, and was a member of the Kennywood Alumni and a few rollercoaster clubs.  David is survived by his sister Karen Savage of Liberty Borough; his nieces and nephews: Lori (Ryan) Savage of Liberty Borough, Jennifer (Sabri) Keskin of Langhorne, Matthew (Emily) Savage of West Mifflin, Heather Wright of Liberty Borough, and Brian Wright of Port Vue; and his lifelong close friends John Platt and Beth O’Shea.  Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister Debbie Wright.

Diane C. Lieb, age 64, of Liberty Borough, died on August 27, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born October 17, 1960, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ida (Carrozza) Foster.

Diane dedicated a significant part of her life to her role as a unit secretary and later, as a scheduling coordinator for the South Hills Orthopedic Surgery Associates. Her diligence and kindness in the health care field were a testament to her desire to help others, showcasing her compassionate nature.


An ardent lover of crafts, Diane found joy in creating beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant personality. She also loved gardening and expressing her personality and passion with her colorful choices of plants and flowers. After a long day of gardening, she relaxed by taking a joyride in her Mazda Miata, followed by a glass of red wine. Her creative spirit shone brightly at the family camp at Mountain Pines Campground, a place where she forged lasting friendships and cherished memories. Diane believed that BALANCE was the key to creating a happy life. However, what brought her the greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who filled her life with immense happiness and love.

John R. Kimmell, age 74, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Emma Kimmell. He is survived by his son, Cameron Kimmell and wife Kelly (Allen) Kimmell and grandson Tyler Kimmell. He is also survived by his brother, James Kimmell and wife Gail (Carver) Kimmell and nephews James and Todd Kimmell. John grew up in Irwin and attended Norwin High School before going to Pitt at Greensburg. In 1978 he married Susan Babyak. The family moved to Stahlstown in 1984 to realize their dream of horse ownership. He was active in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Donegal, and worked as a paralegal at Lieber and Hammer LLC until his death. John had a kind heart, and he loved people. He was always willing to help. John was also a jack of all trades with electrical, plumbing, car repairs, and even horse shoeing. He had a smile that would light up a room and a booming laugh that you couldn't ignore. He will be sorely missed. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Thursday from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 AM with interment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
