Joseph Anthony Cuda, 92, of Glassport, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025.  He was born June 18, 1933 in Pittsburgh and was the son the late Anthony and Elsie (Mirenna) Cuda. Joseph was the husband of 59 years to the late Mary June Cuda, who passed away November 5, 2014.  Joseph was the owner of numerous South Hills bakeries. He was the best baker in Southwestern Pennsylvania and even won awards in France for his Danish pastries. He was a master baker in his field. He will be greatly missed.

Virginia S. Wilson, age 75 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Westmoreland City, passed away on December 1, 2025 at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. She was born on September 4, 1950 in McClellandtown, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Arnetta (Dick) Shaffer. Virginia was a member of the Norwin Alliance Church where she served as the church organist, pianist, and Sunday school teacher. She was an avid reader and writer, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles. She also had an international collection of elephants. Prior to her retirement, Virginia was employed as a CNA by Redstone Highlands. She was preceded in death by her son, Merle Jason Wilson, a daughter, Sarah Villinger, and her brother, David Shaffer (wife Carol). She is survived by her beloved husband, Merle Wilson, three daughters, Elizabeth Lorince (husband Christopher), Rachel Wilson and Karen Lake (husband Ricky), son-in-law, Jamie Villinger, a niece, Linda Flournoy, and 10 grandchildren, Madalein Lorince, Grace Lorince, Paige Lorince, Ariel Lake, Savannah Lake, Sadie Lake, Riley Villinger, Alyssa Villinger, Elena Villinger, and Asher Villinger. Michael K. Ireland, age 59 of Ardara, passed away on December 1, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1966 in Braddock, a son of the late John Ireland and Eileen Kelly Ireland. Michael was a graduate of Norwin High School in the class of 1985. He belonged to St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wilmerding, and he was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 298. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Allegheny County Prison. Michael was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and target shoot. He enjoyed bonfires with friends and family, and he was always able to fix things that were broken. In his free time, Michael looked forward to watching football games, especially the Steelers. He loved Mopar cars, and took pride in his 1969 Charger and 2023 Challenger. He was also known for his robust knowledge of history. Michael is survived by two brothers, his twin John Ireland (wife Pam), and Christopher Ireland, and one sister, Laura Marchand (husband Patrick). He had numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and was known affectionately by many as simply "Uncle Mike". Friends will be received at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, and Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Dale H. Carnahan Jr., 69, of Irwin, PA passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025 while surrounded by loved ones. Dale was born in McKeesport, PA on July 30, 1956 and is the son of the late Harriet (Worrall) George and Dale Carnahan Sr. Dale graduated from Norwin High School and spent most of his life in sales, working hard to provide for his family. Dale was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, his love of football (unless the Steelers were losing), his love of (and frustration with) golf, his signature round glasses, tucked in shirt and Levi’s, a love of almost all music, his favorite hangout at “Drew’s,” and a healthy obsession with mowing the lawn. Dale is also preceded in death by his stepfather Bernard George, and mother- and father-in-law Joyce and Robert Sarver. Dale is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beth, his three children Ashley Downey (Jeff), Haley Carnahan and Dylan Carnahan, sister Toni Shipers, brother Chris Carnahan (Kelly), stepmother Arlene Carnahan, stepsiblings Lori Smith and Bernie George Jr., granddaughters Emma and Grace Downey, nieces and nephews Brianna and Corey Carnahan and Jeff Worrall (Tawsha), aunts and uncles Bea Lithgow, Pat Carnahan, Harold Worrall, and Gary Carnahan (Audrey), best friends “Duff and Mikie,” and many more beloved family members and friends. Theresa Pasinski Komondor, 92, a resident of Concordia at Weatherwood in Greensburg, died on Sunday, November 30.  She was born November 14, 1933 in Glassport, a daughter of the late Blanche Skerkoski and Leonard Pasinski.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene E. Komondor; a sister Valeria D'Angelo; brother Edward Pasinski; daughter-in-law Debbie Komondor and nephews Denny Komondor and Anthony D'Angelo.  On November 25, 1954 Theresa and Eugene were the first couple to be married in the new Holy Cross Church in Glassport, where she was active in organizations including Christian Mothers, the Ladies of Charity and Rosary Society.  For many years they enjoyed going to their cottage in Sigel near Cook Forest, spending countless hours fishing and sitting around the fire with friends from Glassport as well as new group of friends they met there.  She is survived by her sons Gene (Christine) and Gerard (fiance Carolyn Rickard) of North Huntingdon; Mark (Karin) of Lowville, NY and Greg (Lisa) of Forest Hills, MD.  Also surviving are grandchildren Kate Komondor, Sara Letham (Joel), Ken Komondor (Kailey), Corey Komondor, Mark Michael Komondor (Brianna), Matthew and Emily Komondor, Kara Miller (Colin), Gregory (fiance Julianna); and four great grandchildren, brother Leonard Pasinski; along with multiple nieces and nephews.  Friends and family will be received from 1 to 7 pm Friday, December 5 at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of the Rosary Church in Glassport at 11:00 am Saturday, December 6, with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.  Theresa's family would like to thank the staff of Concordia at Weatherwood and Concordia Hospice for their kind and professional care of Theresa's time there.  In lieu of flowers and other memorial items, the family requests that donations in Theresa's name be made to the Concorida at Weatherwood Benevolent Fund, 896 Weatherwood Lane, Greensburg Pa 15601.

Carolyn (Cheskawich) Burke, age 67, of Forward Twp., passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Carolyn was a dedicated employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for more than 30 years, taking great pride in helping others through her various roles. A lifelong resident of Forward Twp., Carolyn knew everyone and would help anyone. Her family will remember her wit, tenacity for life, generosity, and remarkable strength. She loved preparing large meals for her family, who will miss her famous lasagna and wedding soup. She loved spending time in Elk County from childhood through her later years, and enjoyed trips to the casino, especially in retirement. Born August 9, 1958 in Monongahela, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Robert and Marian (Konwick) Cheskawich. She is survived by her partner of 28 years, Thomas Bowen of Elizabeth Twp.; son, Jeffrey (Kelsey) Burke and granddaughters, Josephine and Mabel Burke, all of Seven Fields; sister, Cathy (Warren) McLaughlin of Dallas, TX; also, nieces, nephews, many beloved cousins and extended family, and cherished lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Cheskawich. Dennis Neil Heath, Sr, 77, of Elizabeth Twp., died peacefully Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Veterans Hospital, H.J. Heinz Campus, Aspinwall.  He was born, July 5, 1948, in McKeesport, PA, a son of the late Everett & June (Johnson) Heath. He was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School Class of 1966. After graduating, he enlisted with the U.S. Army where he served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War.  He served most of his tour of duty stationed in Korea.  After his honorable discharge, Dennis was employed for many years at Harbison Walker Refractory. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was the owner and operator of Heath Dental Lab in Elizabeth Twp.   Dennis enjoyed playing guitar & singing, model railroading, and flying remote control helicopters.

David Donald Greger, 85, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home. He was born on March 21, 1940 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Stephen Joseph and Anna (Kakas) Greger. He was the beloved husband to Mary Jo (McGrail) Greger, celebrating 63 years of marriage on November 17, 2025. David was a US Army Veteran and worked for US Steel as a Draftsman and later as a clerk for the US Postal Service. David and his wife belonged to St. Michael Church and attended Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth. He loved to fish, garden and take care of animals, rescuing dogs. His greatest joys came from his grandchildren.

Elmer Vincent Ehser, 73, of McKeesport, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.  He was born January 20, 1952 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William Joseph and Anna (Dudek) Ehser.  Elmer worked numerous jobs throughout his life including a stock person at the former GC Murphy Store in Turtle Creek, a laborer at the former US Steel National Tube, delivered medical supplies for UPMC McKeesport Hospital, and finally he was a driver for Valley National Gas, where he also filled oxygen tanks.  He was an dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and loved playing bingo. He was known to travel all over the area with his bingo buddies to play. Elmer had a love of older vehicles,especially his Oldsmobile and was known to attend car shows throughout the area. He also enjoyed attending the summer concerts at Renzie Park. He will be greatly missed.

Robert D. "Bob" Thomas

Robert D. "Bob" Thomas, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was born June 4, 1945, in McKeesport and was the was the son of the late Robert James and the late Ruth Lillian (Haughton) Thomas. Bob was a 1963 graduate of West Mifflin South High School and spent his career as an electrician at the former Fisher Body Plant. He proudly served as President of UAW Local 544 for six years. He was proud of his community and served as an Elizabeth Township Commissioner for eight years and was also a member of Harry S. Truman F&AM Lodge 765 in Dravosburg.  A man of remarkable skill and determination, Bob could fix anything, and if he didn’t know how, he would simply teach himself. He took great pride in his home, especially his yard and garden, and even built the shed in his backyard himself. Bob cherished the outdoors, especially fishing trips with his grandson Zachary and his friend Ralph Crousure, often visiting their favorite spots at Kinzua Lake and throughout Somerset, PA. He loved being a grandfather, some of his favorite times were watching Zachary play baseball or being a devoted “girl granddad” to his granddaughters. He loved listening to his son Chris play guitar and watching his son Scott wrestle and play soccer and was proud of all Kelly's accomplishments. Above all, he was incredibly proud of his children and was a wonderful and devoted husband. Some of his happiest moments were spent beside his wife, Charlene, whether relaxing together watching “The Voice,” “Tulsa King,” or their favorite history programs, or traveling to Amish Country in Holmes County, Ohio, where they enjoyed cheeses, jellies , and finding furniture. Bob also treasured the many trips he took with Charlene and his siblings to San Antonio, St. Augustine, Savannah, and Alaska. Bob will be fondly remembered for his warmth, his resourcefulness, his love of American Honey liquor, and especially his famous Thanksgiving stuffing, a family recipe passed down from his mother and now shared with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Thomas Denning "Scoon" "Denny"  Komondor, a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran and dedicated community member, passed away on November 27, 2025.  Born on October 27, 1956 his life was marked by service, loyalty, and a genuine kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.  He rightfully earned the nickname "Cat", not only from his distinct "psst psst psst" laugh, but for his love of all cats - both his indoor pets and the stray community he cared for.  He graduated from South Allegheny High School in 1974 and was a life long resident of Glassport.  After his honorable Air Force service, he built a meaningful career with DaVita Dialysis, retiring in 2020 to pursue his love of fishing. He was happiest with a rod in one hand and a "cold one" in the other.  In the 70's and 80's he was a youth baseball coach for the Glassport Orioles. He played for the Showboat Lounge Dart League and Glassport and Steel Valley Men's Softball Leagues.  Scoon was a Life Member of Citizens Hose Co. #1, serving Glassport for over 45 years. He held trustee, lieutenant, and captain positions.  He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew “AK” Komondor and Louise “Weezie” Sigler Komondor.  He is survived by five siblings: Andrew (Pam) Komondor of Great Falls, MT; Mike (Barb) Komondor of North Huntington; Annette (Harry) Case of Glassport; Rob (Kelli) Komondor of Port Vue; and Beth (Chris) Hritz of West Newton.  Uncle Scoon is also survived by his twelve nieces and nephews: Andrew (Sarah) Komondor of Chico, California; Rick (Charlene) Komondor of Great Falls, Montana; Stacy (Zach) Adams of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brenda (Curt) Reid of South Park; Emily (Nicole) Rybar of Columbia, South Carolina; Brandon Swisher of West Newton; Elana (Jeremy Pettis) Case of Latrobe; godson Cameron Komondor of Liberty Borough; Barbara (Ryan Kent) Case of North Versailles; Bradley (Rebecca) Case of Elizabeth; Kayla (Cody Carr) Komondor of Philadelphia; and Claudia (Josh) Ohrman of Murrysville. He was also the godfather of Audra Lewis of Brookline.  He also had 19 great nieces and great nephews. Many would say that being an uncle and great uncle was the role he cherished most.  He is also survived by aunts Peggy Sigler Muron and Theresa Pasinski Komondor, and many cousins.  He shared a lifelong bond with dear friends who were family - David “Iggy” and Gina Lewis, and Scott “Po” and Stacey Poston. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and everyone who spent time with him at Club 22.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Tues. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Wed. 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following at Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.

 


Edward F. Urbanski

Edward F. “Pappy” Urbanski passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26th, 2025.  Ed was born on November 9, 1929, to Clarence and Helen (Dworek) Urbanski of Glassport, PA.  Ed was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Kruzek) Urbanski and the loving father to Karen (Dan) Pavlecic, the late  Kathy Bell (Dave), Kevin (Kathleen) Urbanski, Kent (Gina) Urbanski and the late Mary Urbanski. Ed graduated from Glassport High School in 1948 where he multi-lettered in baseball as a catcher.  He was drafted and chose the branch of the United States Navy and served in the Special Forces  during the Korean War aboard the USS Eldorado.  During his time in the Navy, Ed also starred on the Phib-Pac Naval baseball team.  He was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1952.  Ed decided to forgo his baseball career and returned to Glassport to start a family.  He is the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  Ed worked for United States Steel Clairton works for 38 years before retiring.  He was a lifelong member of the Glassport American legion and Queen of the Rosary and St. Cecelia parishes.  Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp in Warren, PA and loved coaching Little League Baseball in Glassport.  He also was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.  He rarely missed a game.  Ed was one of 6 kids.  He is survived by his brother Thomas and preceded in death by his brothers, Clem, Norman and Eugene and his sister Ann.  Ed was a quiet, kind and honest guy who spent many years caring for his wife Mary Ann after she suffered a stroke.  He never complained or asked for help.  He loved working crossword puzzles and taking trips to the casino.  Pappy will be missed by many for his infectious laugh and use of select cuss words to make a point.  Special thanks to the staff at Point Pleasant Retirement community for watching over Ed the past several years.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sunday from 1 to 7.  A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 am  at Queen of the Rosary Church with Father Steve Kresak.  Interment following at Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.
