Calvin Edward Davis, age 37, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at home. Born October 19, 1987, he is the son of Kenneth Peer and Amy Jo (Davis) Peer. He was a channel lock factory worker in Meadville, PA. Calvin loved his city, the Steelers and Pirates, but was also a very loud Ohio state fan. He was passionate about nature and the Discovery Channel. He was a fantastic cook, even at a young age, and excelled at golfing, baseball, and football. Calvin could turn anything into an adventure and was incredibly goofy when he was around the people he loved. He was, is, and always will be a fierce protector of his siblings, even when he was a little irrational.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his children, Calvin Edward Davis Jr., Anastasia Davis, Charlette Davis; and Zia Powell;Fiance, Erica Luther of Espyville; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Peer, Victoria (Peer) Powell, Charlotte Peer, and Jayden Peer. He is also survived by his Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

Mary Ellen Benson, 76, of Monroeville, beloved daughter of Carl O. Benson and Mary Ellen (Powers) Benson, both deceased. Survived by brother Carl Joseph Benson and sister Christine E. (Benson) Imgrund, nieces Alane (Benson) Goldberg and Jessica (Benson) Smith and nephews James C. Imgrund and Steven C. Imgrund. Mary Ellen graduated from Penn State University in 1970, and the University of Pittsburgh in 1987 with a master’s degree in library science. She worked in various librarian capacities in her career and spent many years doing so at the Allegheny County Community College, Boyce Campus, where she was head librarian when she retired in 2016. Mary Ellen enjoyed helping the students at the school make the most of the library in their studies and continued working part-time in that capacity after her retirement. Mary Ellen was an exceptional and prolific knitter, often making beautifully knitted gifts for her family and friends, and she volunteered in her retirement making knitted items for those in need. Mary Ellen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the McKeesport Carnegie Library to honor Mary Ellen’s love of both books and libraries. Jon A. (Jack) Warden passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7th. He was born June 22,1933 in Philadelphia, a son of the late James A. Warden and Theresa Barnhouse Warden. Jon graduated from McDonald High School in 1951 and later from the University of Pittsburgh. After attending high school during the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard as an Aviation Machinist Mate and a member of a flight crew. Jon was retired from U.S. Steel and their subsidiary railroads in the industrial engineering and transportation departments. Later he worked as a rural Mail Carrier for a number of years. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan since the mid-forties. He coached boys’ basketball in the P.A.L. organization for 10 years and was an active member of the Markvue Manor recreation organization. He had an interest in old cars, having owned 2 classic cars. He enjoyed return trips to California, and for a number of years he spent the winter months in Boca Raton, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Donna (Slack) Warden. In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his infant daughter Dawn Ann, a sister Virginia Warden and a grandson Alex Krivoniak. He is survived by a daughter Diane Krivoniak (Dan) of Latrobe; two sons, Neal (Margaret) of North Huntingdon; Allen (Christine) of Irwin; seven grandchildren Lelia Warden, Martine (John) Krugh, Landon Warden, Shane Warden, Crista Krivoniak, Alexa Krivoniak and Tyler (Jenny) Warden, and five great-grandchildren Brynna, Lennon, Vance, Virginia and Sadie. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will be private. Joann L. Phillips, age 66, of Port Vue, passed away on February 6, 2025, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born February 24, 1958, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Mary (Savage) Tamblyn, and wife of James Phillips for 44 years.
Joann attended South Allegheny High School and later pursued her education further, earning her Associate's Degree from the Community College of Allegheny County. She had a varied career, working with warmth and dedication at Integra Bank, Super Duper, and Uni-Mart in Port Vue. Eventually, she retired from a career with the United States Postal Service, where she served the West Mifflin and Hazelwood communities with pride.

Hartley Charles King, 91, a prominent local entrepreneur and restaurateur, passed away comfortably at his home in Elizabeth Township on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born in McKeesport, Pa. in 1933, Hartley was the son of the late Howard and Thelma (Dreiling) King and brother of the late Wayne H. King of White Oak and Melbourne Beach, Fla. A 1951 graduate of McKeesport High School, Hartley proudly attended Lehigh University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, earning a B.S. in Business Administration in 1956. He then served in the U.S. Army as Specialist Fourth Class in the 557th Engineer Company (LE) stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash., before returning home to work in sales at King and Keeney, Inc., an oil distributorship co-founded by his father.

With loved ones at her side, Camille Louise Demeis transitioned on January 31, 2025, joining her mother (Frances), her father (Frank) and brother (Mike) in God’s care. Born May 19, 1963 in McKeesport, Camille’s sweet and fiery personality will be missed immensely by her sisters Eileen Koscho, (husband George and son Aron), Marian Rowan (husband Jim and son Josh), Roseann (daughter Angela and son Anthony) and Bernadette and her brothers Frank (daughter Ren), Leo (wife Jean, daughters Stephanie, Julie and Leah), Dan, Joe (wife Patti and daughter Erica and son Jake) and Jack (wife Lynn). Camille had a keen sense for fashion and accessorizing and was always the queen of the runway. She was very athletic also. Her favorite sport was swimming and she competed in multiple Special Summer Olympics. Everyone was very proud of the numerous medals she won. Camille was a gift to her family. The life lessons that she taught them and stories she created will live with them forever.

Richard W. Hannegan, age 82, of Clairton passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 surrounded by his family at home. Born September 24, 1942 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Reed W. and Betty (Whoolery) Hannegan. He was a member of the US Army serving during Vietnam War and retired as a Welder at US Steel. He was a member of the VFW in Wilson, the American Legion in Port Vue, and the WACC Club in Wilson. An avid golfer, Richard was also a member of the Happy Hackers Club. Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years Dorothy J. (Kovalak) Hannegan; daughter Richelle M. Hannegan of Glassport; son Christopher P. (Julie) Hannegan of Lewis Center, OH; and grandson Zane Hannegan.

Joan B. "Jobie" Beckowitz, age 95 of Conway, SC and formerly of Lincoln Borough, passed away at home of Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born October 31, 1929 in Hutchison, PA, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Irene (Kertes) Iski. A retired cafeteria worker at South Allegheny High School, Joan was an active member of Port Vue United Methodist Church. She was a well respected member of the community as well as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her lifetime, she was a member of several organizations in Lincoln Borough -- including the Lincoln Borough Mothers' Club and the Lincoln Borough Ladies Auxiliary -- and provided assistance to any and all who were in need. She spent a lifetime of caring for others and for her community. Joan was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Conway, SC, and her favorite color was orchid. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph "Joe" M. Beckowitz; her daughter Gaylynn Davis; and her siblings Mary Bestwick, Ann Tomaino, Irene Kovalyak, and Andrew, Gabriel, Frank, Charles, and Joseph Iski. Ronald T. Jeroski, age 89, of North Huntingdon, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, his 89th birthday. Born in Duquesne on February 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Peter and Clara (Gaca) Jeroski.
Ron served for 4 years in the US Army, post Korean War. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, he worked as an engineer for US Steel, doing research at the UEC Laboratory in Monroeville.
Ron was a member of the former St. Hedwig Church, Duquesne. He was very proud of his Polish heritage, taking multiple trips to Poland. He was extremely honored when he and his wife were named Polonians of the Year by The Polish Cultural Council in 2015. Ron enjoyed his many hobbies, which included traveling, photography, woodworking, stained glass and making beautiful works of art with his scroll saw. Ron LOVED Christmas! He delighted in dressing as Santa for his grandchildren and meticulously decorating his house for the holidays.
Ron was the husband of the late Ernestine (Duran) Jeroski, who passed away on December 9, 2024. He is the father of Cara Jeroski James of Allison Park, PA and Amy (late Jason) Chuderewicz of Virginia Beach, VA; grandfather of Lauren Chuderewicz, Isabella James, Justin Chuderewicz, Ethan James, Ava Chuderewicz and Alyssa Chuderewicz; and brother of Eleanor (Andrew) Fedor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Agnes Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, West Mifflin, with Rev. Dan D’Antonio, officiating. Presentation of Military Honors will follow the Mass.

Michael Anthony Trovato, 39, of Liberty Boro, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at home. He was born October 23, 1985 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Daniel Salvatore and Michele Marie (Chiaverini) Trovato. Michael was the proprietor of the former Trovato Construction and had more recently worked for The Catholic Cemetery Association of Pittsburgh. Patricia A. (Metzler) Young, age 76, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital. She began her career at US Steel where she worked as a typist file clerk and retired as a bookkeeper from Fayco Rentals Inc. in Uniontown. An avid bowler, she was a co-founder and ran the Over and Under the Hill Gang Bowling League for more than 33 years at 51 Lanes, now AMF Bowling in Rostraver Township. She was a Girl Scout troop leader in Elizabeth Twp., and enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening with her husband. Born in West Mifflin on April 19, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Charles T. and Alice M. (Hallas) Metzler. Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Robert M. Young; two children, Timothy (Christine) Young of Bay City, MI, and Summer (Marty) Zueger of Perryopolis; a granddaughter, Alana Young; also, nieces and nephews.
