Tok Sun Boissin, age 87, of Forward Twp., passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at home. Born November 24, 1934 in Kyungnam-Do, Korea, she was the wife of the late Fernand Alvin Boissin. She is survived by a son, Paul Boissin of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Teresa Leonard of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Derek and Samantha Leonard. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry A. Boissin. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bernard J. Derkas, Sr., age 84 of Versailles, passed away at home on Friday, January 14, 2022. Born September 14, 1937 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Charles and Julia (Mallak) Derkas. Bernie was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War; was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick's Church in Christy Park, and also worked as a self-employed furniture repairman and refinisher. In his spare time, Bernie was a guitarist for the band "Shades of Country" and was a volunteer for the Rails to Trails program. His family will remember his belief in hard work, humility, family values, and humor. Besides his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Hickman) Derkas, who passed away July 30, 2003, his son Mark Derkas, Sr., and his grandsons Vince and Daniel Derkas. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, "Amos." Bernie is survived by his children Cynthia (David) Krautz, Butch (Sandi) Derkas, and David (Sherry) Derkas; his eight grandchildren Anthony Derkas, Sr., Joe Derkas, Julie DeBlasio, Annie Krautz, Jes Krautz, Shelby Derkas, Mark Derkas, Jr., and Kayla Derkas; his four great-grandchildren Anthony Derkas, Jr., Paige Derkas, Vera DeBlasio, and Marky Derkas.

On Tuesday January 11, 2022, Raymond Duane Marshall, age 83, one of the finest of men to come out of Boston, PA, died surrounded by his family, just like he would have wanted. Raised by his parents Leslie and Margaret (Harper) Marshall along with his brother Leslie Jr, Ray learned to work hard, to serve his country, and most importantly to share his friendship and love with others without hesitation or judgement. He was a courageous and honorable man, the strong patriarch of our family, had the best memory of all of us, and always enjoyed a good sunburn during family vacations at Ocean City, MD.

Daniel A. Cochran, Sr., age 101 of Clairton, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Born October 18, 1920 in Clairton, he was a son of the late George D. and Helen (Allen) Cochran.
A retired stationary engineer at US Steel - Clairton Works, Daniel was a US Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, a member of the former First United Methodist Church of Clairton, and a former member of both the Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge of Dravosburg and the VFW Post #803 in Wilson. Daniel is survived by his wife Geraldine (Brown) Alderson Cochran; his son Daniel A. (Barbara) Cochran, Jr. of Upper St. Clair; his grandsons Robert (Amy) Cochran and their children Dean and Noah and Kenneth (Arrissa) Cochran and their children Alexander and Hannah; his step-children William D. (Sharon) Alderson, Jr. of Midland, MI; Donna Jean (Joe) Bartolomeo of Cape Coral, FL, David G. (Danette) Alderson of Jefferson Hills, Janine (Gary) Larsen of Tennessee, and Jonette A. (Paul) Emsurak of Elizabeth; his brother George Cochran; his sister Naomi Weis; and many step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Barbara Granovitz, age 82 of White Oak, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born February 7, 1939 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ann C. Bell. A former registered nurse at both Allegheny General Hospital and Western Psychiatric Hospital, Barbara also worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker in Squirrel Hill. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel M. Granovitz and her brothers Richard and Robin Bell. Barbara is survived by her son Michael (Dina) Granovitz of Elizabeth Twp.; her grandchildren Grace, Gabriella, and Eden; and her brother Michael Bell of California.

Deborah Kay Rogers, age 67 of Tarentum, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 in UPMC Shadyside. Born January 25, 1954 in Charleston, WV, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Georgia (Clark) Harper. A graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, Deborah was also preceded in death by her brothers Billy and Danny and grandson David. She is survived by her husband Mark V. Rogers, Sr.; her children Daniel Harper of Portersville, Dareen Harper of Millvale, Angel Harper, Alisha (Fred) Fricks of Liberty Borough, and Samantha (James) Frederick of Tarentum; her thirteen grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; her siblings Rene Placosh, Linda Fisher, Cheryl Stewart, Sharon Harper, and Denzil Harper; and also dozens of nieces and nephews.

James R. "Jim" Lomis, age 78 of Munhall and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Eldercrest Nursing Center, Munhall. Born October 14, 1943 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Margaret Lomis. Jim was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton and participated in the Special Olympics, winning medals in bowling. An avid Ricky Nelson Fan, he loved listening to his records. Jim enjoyed strumming the guitar, tinkering with electronics, juke boxes, watching “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” playing bingo, and going to Kennywood. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. Jim was survived by his numerous cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his aunt and caretaker Irene Helman and his grandfather John Lomis.

Joan L. Scherbo, age 75 of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born November 18, 1946 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Ann (Puchalik) Vukovcan and wife of the late Michael Scherbo who passed away July 7, 2020. Joan is survived by her son John Scherbo of Versailles, her sisters Dee Vukovcan of McKeesport and Patricia Kisic of New Kensington, and her niece Lori Hamilton.

Jeffrey D. Pavlic, age 58 of North Huntingdon, went home to be with Jesus, Our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 3, 2022. Born October 15, 1963, he is the son of Daniel and Nancy (Dziak) Pavlic of Elizabeth Twp. An honors student at Elizabeth Forward High School and Robert Morris University, where he was a double major in accounting and computer science, Jeffrey worked as a computer engineering specialist for Highmark and was the co-owner of the New Great Valley Lanes in North Versailles. Jeffrey was also an exceptional golfer, bowler, bridge player, and “Canadian” fisherman. All in all, he was a generous, kind, smart, funny, and Godly man who was a blessing to his family for far too short. His loss will leave a hole in their lives and hearts, and they will love and miss him terribly. Besides his parents, Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Denise “Dee” (Haley) Pavlic; his son Josh of Irwin; his grandson Cody; his sisters Karen (Johnny) Aromando and Pam (Charles) Cubelic, both of Ingomar; his nieces and nephews Danny (Emily) and Christian Aromando and Elizabeth, Victoria, and Chuckie Cubelic; his mother-and-father-in-law Flo and Bill Haley; his brother-in-law Bill (Cyndee) Haley and their children.
