Roy S. Winkles, age 73, formerly of Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Arden Courts. He retired as proprietor/management consultant for Roy S. Winkles Consulting. Roy had also been a senior partner at  Diamond Management & Technology Consultants in Chicago, Il., Strategic Planning Associates in Washington D.C., Wilton Consulting Group in Wilton, Ct., and was a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in New York City. After receiving his MBA from Columbia University in NYC he joined Proctor & Gamble’s marketing area. He enjoyed tennis, golf, skiing and biking. Born April 23, 1949 in Battlecreek, MI, he was a son of the late John S. and Louise (Boba) Winkles. He is survived by his son, Jon-Francis Stanton Winkles of Pittsburgh; daughter, Anne Winkles of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Laurie Gray of Monavale, Australia; and former wife, Madaline Winkles of Delray Beach, FL. Ronald “Red” Lewis

Ronald “Red” Lewis, age 84, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at home. A retired foreman with Penndot, he was a former part time police officer in West Elizabeth and a former groundskeeper at Round Hill Park in Elizabeth Twp. He was a member of the Bunola Church of the Nazarene and a proud veteran of both the United States Army and Air Force. Born July 4, 1938, in West Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Charles “Babe” Lewis and Olive (Smith) Lewis Stocker and husband of the late Patricia (Cole) Lewis. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Joseph) Giansante and Michelle (Walter Lebetz) Lewis; son, Troy (Kendra) Lewis; grandchildren, Nicholas Giansante, Rachael (Lee Roy Jones) Giansante, Patrick Lebetz, Jacob, Gabrielle, Kaden and Sawyer Lewis; great-grandchildren, Matthew Peterson, Lee and Tara Jones, and Dante Giansante; also, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Lewis and brother, Charles Lewis. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Mary Elaine Linkhauer, age 81, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at home. She was a retired medical technologist and professor at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Mercy. She was intelligent, independent and well-rounded, and never stopped learning. An avid reader, she was interested in architecture, enjoyed walking, and loved touring historic buildings. Born September 2, 1941 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Walter L. and Mary A. (Burger) Linkhauer. She is survived by her sisters, Judith Crislip of Pittsburgh and Jean Linkhauer of Phoenix, AZ; also, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a secretary for the Allegheny County Magistrate and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and planting flowers. Born August 3, 1958 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Norma (Schneider) Weising. She is survived by her husband, Stephan J. Pichura; son, David Muller of Whittaker; stepson, Michael (Jenny) Pichura of Beaver; five grandchildren; brothers, Robert Weising of Ingram Borough and Dennis (Patti) Weising of Shaler; brother-in-law, Paul (Jackie) Pichura of Forward Twp.; also, one nephew. She was a retired administrative assistant for the Sandpiper Beach Club in Sarasota. She was a member of Wrights United Methodist Church in Venetia, a former organist, and an avid reader. Born February 29, 1932 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late William and Dora (Guffey) Ferree and wife of the late George L. Cain. She is survived by daughter, Diane (Charles "Bud") Swingle of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Kelly (Bob) Muntan of Masontown and Grant Swingle; great-grandchildren, Jesse and Cody Muntan; also, nieces and nephews. Jean A. (Loretta) Brown, age 70 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born January 27, 1953 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret A. (Shamya) Loretta.  Jean was a radiology secretary for Jefferson Hospital.  She went to Jesus and was a strong and independent Christian.  Jean had a deep love for animals.  Jean is survived by her sisters Mary Rose Odenthal of North Huntingdon and Judith Ann Loretta of Greentree; her niece Tanya Curry and nephew Michael (Deeble) Allsbrooks.  Special thanks to Kristie Bodnar, Barb Cope and the Jefferson Hospital nurses.

Eileen D. Jamison, age 95 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.  Born January 20, 1928 in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late Charles Albright Daugherty and Irene Anna (Crossland) Daugherty.  A master's degree recipient from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, Eileen was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, the Garden Club of McKeesport, and the former McKeesport Symphony Women's Guild.  Eileen’s hobbies included playing scrabble and working on crossword puzzles.  She had many wonderful friends and enjoyed traveling with them.  She provided especially wonderful entertainment for her large family with pool parties and holiday dinners.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, the late Stephen Quay Jamison, who passed away June 12, 1981, her son Karl Q. (Lynn) Jamison, her sister Emma Jane Pattison, her great-granddaughter Alyssa Abels and her niece Irene Pattison Delaquil.  Eileen is survived by her children Jay (Beth) Jamison of Elizabeth Twp., Amy Jamison of Elizabeth Twp., and Laurie Knisely of Port Matilda; her grandchildren Stephen (Lin) Jamison, Paul (Elizabeth) Jamison, and Wesley Jamison; Jillian (Alex Newman) Woolridge,  Ainsley (Dylan Glatt) Woolridge, and Virginia (Brandon Hubbard) Woolridge; Emily (Adam) Knisely-Kirley, John (Cherise Koslop) Knisely, Scott (Kate) Jamison, Kristen (Adam) Abels, and David (Haley) Jamison; her nineteen great-grandchildren; her nieces Kem (Jerry) Morgan and Stephanie (Vince) DiLeo; and nephew David Clark.

Born December 4, 1931 in Smithdale, she was a daughter of the late George and Pauline (Popovich) Maksim and wife of the late James Samuel March. R. Donald Similo

R. Donald Similo, age 91 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville.  Born September 20, 1931 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Ferino "Pete" and Laura (Maloney) Similo. Don joins his wife, the late Arlene L. (Castor) Similo (1939-2005), to whom he was married for 44 years.  He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.  Don started his career at Elizabeth Forward High School, where he was a business teacher as well as a football coach and athletic director.  He was employed by California University of Pennsylvania as a financial aid director and accounting professor.  After his retirement from Cal, he continued his CPA private practice until 2021.  Don was also civically minded and active, serving as an Elizabeth Township Commissioner for 40 years.  He was a parishioner of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish - St. Michael's Church where he was a member of the ushers' club, finance committee, and Knights of Columbus.  Don was also, as of the date of his passing, the oldest member and past president of the Youghiogheny Country Club.  In his spare time, he participated in various golf leagues and was a fan of Penn State Football and Pittsburgh sports teams.

Oren Sinko, age 88, formerly of Redondo Beach, CA, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Lake Havasu City, AZ. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he retired as a flight engineer for Flying Tigers that became FedEx. He was a recreational pilot who also taught others to fly. Born April 11, 1934 in Glassport, he was a son of the late Walter and Julia (Kazanich) Sinko. He is survived by his brother, Nicholas Sinko of Daniels, WV; sister, Barbara (John) Phillips of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; brother, Valery (Eunice) Sinko of Hialeah, FL; and sister, Marie (Lee) McCracken of Lake Havasu City, AZ; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willa. Friends will be received in the Paul E. She was a former Elizabeth Twp. Commissioner for 36 years and a devoted mother and grandmother. Born October 19, 1944 in Charleroi, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Joseph and Lillian (Schemento) Totora. She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Beckowitz; daughter, Tammy (AJ) Hadad of Elizabeth Twp.; sons, Thomas (Lori) Beckowitz of North Huntingdon and Timothy Beckowitz of White Oak; grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole Beckowitz, Timothy Sowa and Jacob Weiss. Kathleen M. “Casey” (Howley) Wagner, age 77, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at home. She was a retired Phlebotomist after 20 years at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. She was also a member of St. Joachim and Ann Parish, St. Michael’s Church in Elizabeth Twp. She was very active in her church as a member of the Christian Mothers, Ladies of Charity and Rosary Makers. She was a Eucharistic minister that administered communion to shut-ins, a facilitator of the bible studies program, festival helper and volunteer for Lenten fish fries. She was a member of the North Huntingdon #3221 AARP, was an avid Bunco player, and loved to travel, but above all else, she loved her family. She enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports, the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Born May 11, 1945 in Schenectady, NY, she was a daughter of the late William and Isabelle (Tomaszewski) Howley and wife of the late Robert Chauncey “Bob” Wagner.

He was a retired machinist at Weld Tooling Company in Canonsburg and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a former volunteer fireman in Elizabeth and Glassport, a rabid Pittsburgh sports fan, and he loved his pets. Born April 1, 1942 in Glassport, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Markland) Finney. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara J. (Henderson) Finney; three sons, Shawn (Christine) Finney of Dravosburg, Darin (Mo) Finney of Crested Butte, CO and Kevin (Amie) Finney of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Cameron, Carson, Kaden, Austin, Avarie and Kenadie Finney; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. John A. Scalise, Jr.

John A. Scalise, Jr., age 82 of Glasgow, KY, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 in Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela.  Born October 10, 1940 in Clairton, he was a son of the late John A. Scalise, Sr. and Clementina (Roy) Scalise. A 1959 graduate of Clairton High School, John received his bachelor's degree from Morehead State University and his M.Ed. from Western Kentucky University.  He retired as a music teacher for the Glasgow School District and then worked until very recently for 27 years as a courier for South Central Bank.  John was a member and lector at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church in Glasgow, KY and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Glasgow.  In his spare time, he was a co-director of the Glasgow Community Band, an avid sports fan -- especially his hometown teams from Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh, loved to work the sticks on Friday nights for Glasgow High School football, and really enjoyed playing with his great-niece-and-nephew Kennedy and Robert.  John is survived by his sister Lucille (Gary Moore) Herndon of Clairton; his nieces and nephews Alexis (Robert) Trubiani of Donora, John (Shannon) Shar of Crafton, Donna (the late Tom) Watson of Pleasant Hills, and Gloria Costa of Jefferson Hills; and also many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Jeanne (Henson) Scalise, who passed away June 6, 2010; his siblings Frank Scalise, Marie Gray, and Esther Shar; his nephew Robert J. Nystrom; and his brother-in-law Joseph Herndon.
