Helen M. (Mikszan) Becker, age 92, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. Born March 19, 1931 in Lawrenceville, she was a daughter of the late Andrew C. and Viola (Bollard) Mikszan and wife of the recently deceased George L. Becker Jr. She is survived by daughters, Dolores (Gary) Bell of Charlotte, NC, Patricia (Larry) Vavrek of Estero, FL, Carol Karabinos of Pittsburgh, Charlene (Rege) McDonough of Cincinnati, OH, Mary (Skip) Chuderewicz of Pittsburgh and Lynn (Eric) Damico of Jefferson Hills; sons, Lawrence (Sherry) Becker of Colorado Springs, CO, Daniel (Robin) Becker of Lancaster, Henry (Lorra) Becker of Denver, CO, Ronald Becker of Plattsburg, NY, Kenneth (Kathy) Becker of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and George (Sheila) Becker of Jefferson Hills; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, George Mikszan. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 3-5 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 9:30 AM in St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Donald C. Rieger, age 96 of Belle Vernon and formerly of Erie, passed away at home on Monday, August 28, 2023.  Born June 3, 1927 in Erie, he was a son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Eichelsdorfer) Rieger.  A US Army Veteran of World War II, Donald retired as a service manager for the former Dictophone Corp. (now Pitney Bowes) as a service manager.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Erie, and following his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates through thick and thin.  Donald is survived by his children Joseph Rieger of Belle Vernon, Mark A. (Connie) Rieger of Erie, Gary (Victoria) Rieger of Austin, TX, and Shari (Tom Arndt) Rieger of Memphis, TN; his grandchildren Sean (Bridget) Rieger, Ryan (Amanda) Rieger, Bryan Rieger, Jeremy (Laura) Rieger, Destiny (Yee) Wells, Justin (Melissa) Rieger, Sienna Rieger, and Aidan Rieger; his great-grandchildren Hannah, Kaia, Bodi, Soren, River, Carter, Karly, McKenzie, Eli, Faith, Grace, and Hope; his great-great-grandchild Azaela; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings Harry Rieger, Frances Gehringer, and Rita Rieger.

Jane (Remaley) Ganss, age 103, of Sewickley, formerly of West Elizabeth and Pleasant Hills, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the Masonic Village of Sewickley. She was a retired clerk at the West Elizabeth Post Office, a member of Springdale United Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Elizabeth 418 Order of Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron. Born January 9, 1920 in Springdale, she was a daughter of the late James G. and Emma E. (Thompson) Remaley, and wife of the late William J. Ganss Jr. She is survived by son, Jim (Louise) Ganss of Decatur, TN; daughter, Marcie (Bob) Ladley of Jefferson Hills; granddaughter, Christy MacDonald; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. A special thank you to her two great-nieces, Lynn Currie and Beth Hewitt, and the staff of Masonic Village, especially the “A-Team.” Private visitation was at the Paul E. Carole J. (McCorkle) Williams, age 81, of Forward Twp., passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at home. She was the accountant for the family business, Tom's Body Shop in Forward Twp. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. A master quilter and member of the Mon Valley Quilt Club, she also enjoyed sewing, building puzzles and doing crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. Born June 3, 1942 in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Helen (Hough) McCorkle. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas E.  Williams; daughters, Amy Brunazzi of Forward Twp. and Jennifer (Simone Meltesen) Williams of New York, NY; grandchildren, Erin Brunazzi, Sarah (Stephen) Ciuca and Arthur Brunazzi; great-grandchildren, Trent, Sofia, Anson and Ellis; brother, Boyd McCorkle of the state of California; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, JoAnn Sayre, and best friend, Patty Speers. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Deborah A. (Shellhammer) Lawson, age 70, of Charleroi, formerly of Brookville, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Cambridge Hillside Senior Living. A member of First Baptist Church in Brookville, she retired after 20 years as a bookkeeper for Matson's Lumber in Brookville. She loved animals, crafting, sewing, being outdoors, baking, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed music and singing and music "carried her" after her husband passed away. Born September 26, 1952 in Stamford, NY, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Betty J. (Andrew) Shellhammer and wife of the late  William L. Lawson. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly Hempel of Brookville; grandchildren, Aubree (Cameron) Johnson of Charleroi, Andrew Hempel of Export and Austin Hempel of West Newton; great-grandchildren, Naomi Rose Johnson and Roman Claude Johnson; siblings, Richard (Linda) Shellhammer, Pamela (Robert) Davis, Susan Walk and William (Cari) Shellhammer; also, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Judith Crawford and Ronald Shellhammer. Stevens, age 82 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at home.  Born October 9, 1940 in Clairton, he was a son of the late James and Louise (Murray) Stevens.  A retiree from Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth, Robert was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the VFW Post #803 and American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, both of Clairton, and, after his retirement from Eastman, worked at Debbie's Clairton Coffee Shop.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen R. (Zubovich) Stevens, who passed away June 15, 1993, and is survived by his daughter Patricia Stevens of Munhall, his sister Janice McGowan of South Park, and his brother James Stevens of Florida.

Johnston, age 63 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born August 18, 1959 in Columbus, OH, he was a son of the late John D. and Cora Sure (Hugos) Johnson.  A member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton, Mark was a truck driver, working for many companies over the years.  He was a former Mason, associated with the Demolay Boys and Rainbow Girls, was a Boy Scouts of America troop leader, and also served as a staff member at the Heritage Boy Scout Camp.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years Mari Jo (Cornish) Johnston; his children Eric (Ashley) Johnston of Monongahela, Christopher (Alexis) Johnson of New Mexico, and Ashley (Michael) Schroeder of Clairton; his grandchildren Isabella Johnston and Lilleth Schroeder; his sister Shari (Kelly) Harrison of Spring, TX; and also nieces and nephews.

(Demchak) Popchak.  A member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, Frances was a elementary school teacher at St. Clare Elementary,  an assistent teacher at Mt. Lebanon Montessori, and opened and retired from the St. Clare Montessori. She was also  a CCD teacher and director of religious education at the former St. Joseph's Parish.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mickey" Bindas, who passed away on February 5, 1998, and her sisters Rose Marie Wilkerson and Sr. Barbara Popchak.
