Joan Y. Cochran, 86, of Versailles, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at home. She was born March 6, 1936 in Homestead and was the daughter of the late Orville Fredrick and Dorothy Marie (Schmidt) Herchelroth. She was the wife of the late of Harry Wayne Cochran who passed away May 21, 2004 . Joan was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, ceramics, cake decorating and stained glass. She had previously worked at the Consolidated Coal Co.

She is survived by her son, Richard Alan (Julie) Cochran of North Versailles and daughter, Lori Ann (Carey Barnes) Coughenour of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Nicole Cochran, Christopher Coughenour, Sydney Cochran, and Jacob Cochran, great-grandchildren, Cyrus Coughenour and Eloise Coughenour, sister, Dorothy (David) Opfer of Washington, PA, nieces, nephews and her beloved cat, Scarlet. Friends are welcome Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
