Frances M. Skotnicki, age 98 of White Oak, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her daughter, Terri’s home.

She was born on July 11, 1918 in Pgh. and is the daughter of the late Zygmund and Loretta Gniazdowski Ruszkoski; and the wife of the late Ted J. Skotnicki.  She was a very active member in the former St. Mary Czestochowa Church, now Corpus Christi and was a member of the Rosary Society.  As part of the Christian Mothers of Corpus Christi Church which she has been a member for 50 years she has been hand making the St. Gerard’s Baptismal Gowns for new babies of the church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Currently she has been employed as a shredder in the shipping department of QSA, Inc. in Elizabeth. She was a member of Zajada and the Glassport PNA. She loved to make her famous haluski for St. Mark Parish annual festival, was known for her delicious pizzelles; and through the years she has helped raise many, many children.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Joseph) Parker of Accokeek, Maryland, Terri (David) Kisan of McKeesport, Bernadette (the late Joseph) Grese of Liberty Borough, daughter-in-law, Carol (the late Gregory) Skotnicki; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Kuk; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to being preceded in death by her son she was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Frank Ruszkoski.

Friends will be received Friday, September 2nd from 2-8 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor) 412-678-6177. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10 am in Corpus Christi Church with Fr. Steve Palsa officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Polish Cemetery.
