George C. Booker, 84, of Duquesne, was born November 21, 1936 in Braddock, PA. He was the beloved son of Helen Booker (deceased). George departed this life on November 5, 2021 at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Booker. 

He attended North Braddock High school (Scott High), where he was the ball and bat receiver for the baseball team. George worked various jobs including duct, vent & chimney cleaning before retiring from the West Mifflin School District where he worked for many years in their Janitorial Department.

George is well known around Braddock, Rankin, & Duquesne could not go anywhere without someone greeting him. George Booker met his wife Jane of 21 years at the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Duquesne, PA where they would also wed on George’s birthday November 21, 1996. Later they moved & remained at the Payne Chapel A.M.E Church in Duquesne.

George loved putting together his model cars, planes, and boats. He enjoyed organizing his tools, he like to collect different kinds of pocketknives. He likes to go fishing, He loved to watch his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers and the many family gatherings.

George had a passion for singing for the lord he was part of the Braddock Community Male Chorus for sixty years. George would sing all day or night if he could. The chorus was his family & he cherished every minute with them.

George is survived by his stepchildren, Trina Woods, Norman Woods, Meshelle Woods, Dionne Woods and Darcel Gray; grandchildren, Lavaughn Wesley Woods, Wenzel Woods, Alvon Woods, Selena Woods, Janeece Woods, Norman Woods, Sonia Warren, Angela Woods Adams, Moyisi Warren, Sheraud Warren, Kadeem Warren, Chazz Lewis, Carletta Woods, Catrina Woods, George Goins, Jayna Thomas, Chris Woods, Norman Woods, Quaney Woods, Neyonna Woods and Tiara Thomas, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
