Dennis Hearn, 83, of Irwin, died Saturday August 6, 2016, at home. He was born May 13, 1933 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Dennis A. and Matilda (Lee) Hearn. Prior to retirement he was employed by Georgia Pacific. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parent he is preceded in death by his brother Earl Hearn and son in law Dan Jones.
Denny is survived by his devoted wife of sixty one years, Janet (McNutt) Hearn; five loving and caring daughters, Sandi Jones, Debbie (Dale) Robinson, Gayle (Doug) Roberts, Kim (Jeff) Mayer, and Julie (John) Gurowski; proud grandfather of Desha (Tony) Matthews, Kensee (Bill) Lusebrink, Allyson (Dillon) Butler, Brad Mayer, Troy (Anna) Robinson, and Danny Jones; honored to be the great grandfather of Reese and Rilynn Matthews; sister and brother in law, Sarah and Jim Parkes; also nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loving little dog Gracie. Denny loved spending time with his family, vacationing at the beach and playing senior softball. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Bruce Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Winslow and Excela Health Hospice for all the kind and compassionate care.
