Rev. Harry Lewis Burchell, Sr., 85, of Ridgeley, W.Va., died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born November 29, 1930 in McKeesport, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Edith (Campbell) Burchell.
 
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marylee (Fike) Burchell; his second wife, Patricia Ann (Grant) Burchell; two brothers, John and Charles “Chuck,”; and, three sisters, Flo, Kate, and Dora.

From the time he was 19 years of age, Rev. Burchell served as a minister.  He was the founding pastor of Open Bible Church in McKeesport, Pa..  He continued to serve many churches, including Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God.

He belonged to Lake Gordon Assembly of God and the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association.

Survivors include his daughters, Parish Burchell, Ridgeley, and Patti Sue Feehley, Jonesville, NC; three sons, Heath Getter, Ridgeley, Russell Burchell, Old Saybrook, CT, and Rev. Harry L. Burchell, Jr., Cumberland; eight grandchildren, thirteen great, grandchildren, and five great, great, grandchildren.  Over the years in his ministry, he has been blessed with the friendship of many brothers and sisters in Christ.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 7-9 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11 AM in the funeral home, with Pastor Rebecca L. Rust, officiating.
