MaryGrace (Garofalo) Morrell, age 86 of McKeesport, passed away January 7, 2016 at her son's house in North Huntingdon, where she had recently been residing. Born September 7, 1929 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Guisseppe and Philomena (Gasbarina) Garofalo. MaryGrace was employed as a waitress at the Jacktowne Ride and Hunt Club, the Lemon Tree, Old Athena, Ben Gross Restaurant, and also the Club Car Diner, where she continued to work well into her 70's. She was affiliated with the Sixth Ward Social Club, served as a committeewoman and majority inspector of the election board in McKeesport. She was a member of the former St. Perpetua Church and was an active participant of Community Life during the last few years.
She showed her love and devotion for children through fostering for many years. MaryGrace was an avid dancer, and some of her most memorable times were spent camping with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her son, Gregory (Terri) Morrell of North Huntingdon; daughter, Beth Vangelder of McKeesport; grandchildren, Megan, Marissa, Jeremy, Andrea, Matt, Michael, Kristen, and Brian; brother, John (Maryann) Garofalo of Pleasant Hills; nieces and nephews, Janis, Connie, Tina, Francis, Gina, Johnny, Suzie, Renee, and Angie; and her foster children, Peggy, Leslie, and Jamie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alfred Garofalo, Constance Stepaniak, Anthony Garofalo, and Rita Rabik. Friends and family will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 12-8 p.m. Blessing Service will be Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Kevin Dominik will officiate. Entombment will follow at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery.
