After an extremely courageous battle with cancer, Domenico “Mico” Lagana, age 73 of North Versailles, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 28, 1947 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, a son of the late Francesco Lagana and Maria Polimeni.
He worked as a Concrete Foreman for over 25 years for Golden Triangle Construction Company before retiring. He loved golf, fishing, gardening and spending time at the family cabin at Whipkey Dam.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Domenica “Mimma” Lagana; children Maria (Fiance' Darrell Franks) Lagana of North Versailles, Frank (Jessica) Lagana of Greenfield and Dominic (Jamie) Lagana of East Mont; grandchildren Anthony (fiancé Emily), Alexis, Santino (fiancé Cameron) Dominic III (Mia), Francesco, Jimmy, Rocco, Bruno and Domenica; great grandson Domenico; 3 brother and 3 sisters living in Italy; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Colman Catholic Church in Turtle Creek. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles.
