Gerald T. Dempsey Sr., age 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was a World War II Navy veteran that completed an extensive course in timepiece repair that set him up for his future work and helped him with repairing friend's time pieces. He retired after over 42 years as an instrument repairman at the Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and spend time in the outdoors. He always looked forward to traveling to Georgia in the summers with his wife to buy and restore antiques with his father-in-law for his resale shop. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 43 years Viona "Vi" Dempsey; parents; and many brothers. He is survived by his children Gerald Dempsey Jr. of Bellingham, Washington, Eleanor Dempsey of Youngwood, Norma McCarthy of Greensburg and Philip (Colleen) Dempsey of Blairsville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Brother Howard; and sisters Betty and Janet.

Friends and Family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone will gather at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday for a funeral service with Rev. Bruce Judy officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Monongahela Cemetery in Braddock.
