Clifford E. Denton Jr., age 91, of North Versailles, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018. He was born July 11, 1927 in New York City, a son of the late Clifford and Sharon (Fogarty) Denton. He served in the Marines during World War II and started his career in the newspaper business working for the New York Daily News. He was bureau chief for Stars and Stripes in Saigon during the Vietnam War and afterwards spent many years living in Japan. After retiring from the newspaper industry, he worked in the Department of Aging for the State of Pennsylvania. He loved sailing, playing the piano and sharing stories with friends and loved ones.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Hui Muk (Lucy) Denton; one brother; and one sister. He is survived by his step-son Mark Miller and wife Keely of North Huntingdon; and 3 grandchildren. Interment with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday December 31st at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
