She was born May 31, 1931 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Foster) Valiquette and was also preceded in death by her husband Theodore P. Gida Sr., a son David A. Gida, and her brothers Jack and William Valiquette. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother dedicated to caring for them.
She is survived by her children Theodore P. (Helen) Gida Jr. of Gettysburg, Susan (Tim) Ference, Wayne (Amy) Gida, and Jan W. “Chip” Gida (Lin) Johnson all of North Versailles; grandchildren Tammi L. Gida, Theodore P. (Kim) Gida III, Justin D. (Chrissy) Gida, Lucas M. Gida, Timothy “T.J.” Ference, Robyn L. Ference, Lacey M. (Joel) Schurtz, Kaitlyn R. Gida, Benjamin W. Gida; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her sister Gloria Schell and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
