Gerald P. “Jerry” Dilla, 79, of Irwin, died at home Thursday March 31, 2016. He was born November 21, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Eugene and Mary Dilla and was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. He was a retired baking supervisor for Braun Baking Co., Pittsburgh and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. Jerry enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the Allegheny River and loved to fish. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict era. He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Shirley A. (Lemak) Dilla; children, Bernadette (Dave) Blatnick of Adamsburg, Patrick (Erin) Dilla of Hobe Sound, FL, John (Chris) Dilla of Raccoon Township, and Jim (Jen) Dilla of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Jake and Mike Dilla; a sister, Nancy (Casey) Kelly Chicago, IL; a brother in law, Art Proviano of Penn Hills; a sister in law, Jane Goodish; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
