Edna J. (Smith) Ludwig, age 98, of Pittsburgh, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018. She was born June 17, 1919 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late August Anthony and Edna Minella (Lobaugh) Smith. She retired after 30 years of nursing at the Reformed Presbyterian for the Aged. She was a member of St. James Church in Wilkinsburg and enjoyed her time with the Hilltopper’s Bingo in East McKeesport and the North Versailles Senior VIP Travel Club. She is survived by her children Geraldine “Jerry” (late husband Adam) Kauffman, Jackie (Robert) Huemme, Robert (Denise) Ludwig, Ronald (Nancy) Ludwig and Edward (Kathy) Ludwig; grandchildren Adam (Monica), Laura (John), April (Tim), Lisa (Dayle), Kimberly, Kristen, Bob (Melissa), Karen (Carl), Maria, Thyme, Bow, Suzanne, Kurtis and Kristin (Jake); great grandchildren Heather (Shane), Deanna, Dylan, Nathan, Miranda, Brianna, Megan, Jessica, Erica, Katie (Tom), and Matthew (Maria); 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Dithridge Ludwig; brothers Francis, Albert, and August; and sisters Mary, Margaret, Della and Martha Mae.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in East McKeesport.
