James C. Armbrust, 80, of Irwin died at home Thursday, March 3, 2016. He was born February 17, 1936 in Greensburg, a son of the late Cloyd and Grace (Kettering) Armbrust. He graduated from Hurst High School and was a sergeant in the Marines before his employment with Westinghouse. He enjoyed hunting and competitive shooting. He attended Norwin Christian Church. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and Irwin Sportsmen’s Association, and belonged to various other 2nd Amendment organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Karla Karl. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years Myrna (Newill) Armbrust; sons Daniel (Rita) Armbrust of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Dwight (Dernice) Armbrust of Columbia, South Carolina and Douglas (Meredith) Armbrust of Sewickley Heights; 13 grandchildren; two great grandsons; and brothers Bob (Millie) and Ed Armbrust both of Greensburg. Friends and family will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200 where everyone will gather at 11:00 a.m. Monday for a funeral service with Pastor Terry Irwin officiating.
