Peter Yacko, age 89, a resident of Concordia, Cabot, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was born April 23, 1928 in East McKeesport, a son of the late Anthony and Martha (Hrynik) Yacko. He was a former active member of the Norwin Alliance Church, North Huntingdon, a former member of Men’s Prayer Fellowship, and went on to volunteer at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. He attended Nyack College in Nyack, New York and graduated from St. Paul Bible College, St. Paul, Minnesota. Upon graduation he served as a missionary with Village Mission in Nebraska and Missouri. Peter owned the Yacko Construction Company for many years where he built and remodeled churches across West Pennsylvania. He retired as the Safety Maintenance Supervisor at Precise Metals and Plastics in North Versailles.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sons Lowell and Darrell Yacko; and sisters Sophie Tret, Anna Langer, Helen Milliron and Olga Squires. He is survived by his wife Martha Ruth (Jones) Yacko; daughters Mary Forbes of Butler and Darlene (John) Hanko of New Alexandria; seven grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother John Yacko of East McKeesport; also nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Richard Jenks and Rev. Robert Daniels, officiating.
