Thomas E. Styche, age 71, of Weedville, and formerly of Buena Vista, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at home. He retired after more than 30 years as a plant manager for Elizabeth Carbide Components in Latrobe. An Army veteran serving during Vietnam, he was a life member and past chief of Buena Vista Fire Co. and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was a charter member of the Elizabeth Twp. Sportsmen's Club, and a member of the American Legion in Weedville, Masonic Polaris Lodge 375 in McKeesport, and the Sinnemahoning, Mosquito Creek and Ridgeway sportmen's clubs. 

 

Born August 5, 1945 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Styche Sr. and the late Mildred (Mains) Styche. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet (Hurst) Styche; sons, Brian (Nicole) Styche of Chester County and Matthew (Amy) Styche of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Nicholas Moscufo and Julianne Styche; brothers, Frank Styche of McKeesport and James Styche of Cape Cod, MA; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Amy Styche. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11 AM in the United Presbyterian Church, 335 Styche Street, Buena Vista, PA 15018 with Pastor August Hurst officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 3333 Fire Station Street, Buena Vista, PA 15018 or Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Company, 107 Market Street, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
