Stella M. (Stanoszek) Knapp, 98, of Duquesne, died peacefully Monday, March 13, 2017 at home. Born June 18, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Skrupa) Stanozsek and beloved wife of the late John D. Knapp. Mrs. Knapp was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, a former member of court 871, Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Name Women's Guild, former treasurer of the Prince Humbert Club, Promoter of the Association of the Miraculous Medal, the Sacred Heart Club and a co founder of the Merry Maidens Card Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Debi (Alan) Dzurikanin of Duquesne, a brother, Theodore (Margaret) Stanoszek of White Oak, a granddaughter, Amy (Joe) Bramson of Whitehall, two beloved great-grandsons, Ryan and Luke Bramson, sister-in-law, Emma Stanoszek and many Nieces and Nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Edward and Henry Stanoszek, and a sister, Genevive Gavlik.
Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., Richford & Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 9:30 AM will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Name Church, Duquesne with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
