Albert “Al” Torok, Jr., 72, of Smithton, Pennsylvania, died at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in Oakland surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 17, 2017. He was born on May 31, 1944, in Versailles, Pennsylvania, one of 8 children of Albert Torok, Sr., and Dorothy (Hixon) Torok. He retired from the Elizabeth Forward School District and the Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth Township. He was a US Navy Veteran, having served in Cuba during the Vietnam War. He was an officer and member of the American Legion Post 790 in Smithton. Al is survived by 2 children, sons, Kevin A. Torok of Smithton and Keith A. Torok of Elizabeth; 4 grandchildren, Lawra and Lindzey Torok, Kevin Torok, Jr., and Sean Torok; 3 great-grandchildren, Sommer, Ella and Marin; brother, Robert Torok of Butler; sisters, Sandy (Dan) Dole of North Carolina, Margie Potts of McKeesport, Cheryl Fulton of White Oak, Cindy (Tim) Thompson of North Huntingdon, and Sharon (Joseph) Gibbons of Greenock; also nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kerekes. Friends will be received at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director, on Tuesday, February 21 from 3 - 7 pm. A service with Military Honors will be immediately following in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Erin Evans officiating.
