Mary Agnes Englert, a lifelong resident of East McKeesport, PA and North Versailles, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the age of 99. She was born in East McKeesport, PA on July 5, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Abele Koelsch. She was the wife of 62 years to the late James Robert Englert, who passed away on January 17, 2013. Mary’s faith was important to her, and she was involved in her parish, Saint Robert Bellarmine (now Mary, Mother of God Parish). She was a founding member of the Christian Mothers and held many leadership positions. She was a member of the Ladies of Chairty, a Eucharist Minister, and taught CCD for many years. Mary was employed by East Allegheny School District as a secretary in the district office and high school for many years.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Joseph (Barbara) Englert, Sr. of McKeesport, PA; daughter Mary Beth (Paul) Mehno of Oakdale, PA; grandchildren, Dennis Joseph (Renee) Englert, Jr.; Justin Englert; Ashley Englert; James “Jimmy” Englert; Kelly (Andrew) Balascak; Melissa (Robert) Strubble; Kristin (David) Thomas; Courtney (Corey) Williams; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” (Herman) Kline of Nicktown, PA; many nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Englert of Endicott, NY.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, James F. Englert; granddaughter, Amanda “Mandy” Englert; and sisters, Katherine Koelsch; and Dorothy E. (the late Alfred “Doc”) Kline.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Mary’s memory on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, 2701 Kelly Street, White Oak, PA 15131. A burial will follow.
