Shirley Ann Burgman, age 89, of McKeesport, died at home on September 21, 2025. Born January 11, 1936, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Stella (Lange) Verner and the wife of the late Clarence Burgman. Shirley's early years were filled with joy and hard work, particularly during her time at the Peter Pan, where she met the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing the bonds that would last through the years. For many years, Shirley dedicated herself to the McKeesport Area School District, where she worked with passion in food service. Her kindness and warmth always ensured that students and staff alike felt welcome and nourished. A loving mother and grandmother, Shirley found great joy in the laughter and love shared with her family. Her spirit shone brightly as she spent countless hours watching sports and game shows, always cheering for her teams with infectious enthusiasm. Shirley also liked bingo and scratch tickets.
Shirley is survived by children, Cara (the late Richard) Hollup and Craig (Tracy) Burgman; grandchildren, Bret Burgman, John Hollup, Richard Hollup, Brittney (Don Porter) Hollup, and Kelsey (Jamal Black) Hollup; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Fozard, Kamren Hollup, Kane Hollup, and Donald Porter, III; siblings, John Verner and Billie (Elmer) Keffer; step-children, Norma Mowery and family, and Carey Burgman and family. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Sandra Stitt, Samuel Verner, Joan McCafferty, and Patricia Schmeltz; stepson, Alan Burgman.
