Sheryl Rae Carroll, 75 of North Huntingdon passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 22, 1949 in Connellsville, PA. Daughter of the late Fred and Christina (Clark) Piern. She is survived by her loving husband of over 52 years, James W. Carroll, whose patient care and devotion allowed her to fight her illness in the peace and comfort of their home. Children: Jason (Chastity) Carroll, son Nicholas, Kelly (Aaron) Szymanski, and Mandy (Alan) Olszewski, Brother: Freddie (Janet) Piern, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheryl had a kind, and generous heart. She was always willing to help those in need, from children to animals and veterans. With her loving husband, she also volunteered her time working for the Norwin Area Meals on Wheels. A talented seamstress, Sheryl worked for several local businesses over the years, but the work she was most proud of was that of Wife and Mother. A devout Christian and often active in the Church, she and her husband raised their children to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Carroll family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the MANY wonderful nurses and aids from Bridges Hospice Care, especially Trish and Marion. God Bless You Both! Family and Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Thursday from 4-7 PM. A service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 7 PM. Burial will be private. In memoriam, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a very special and spiritual place for Jim & Sheryl, the “Support The Jumonville Cross Restoration Project”, celebrating 75 years of the Great Cross of Christ. (Jumonville.org). Lord, Sheryl is in your hands now. In your timing, we know all who receive Jesus and believe in his name will see and be with her again in the everlasting joy of heaven, no more sorrow, no more pain. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
