John C. “Chick” Schweinberg, 80, of Irwin, died Sunday November 13, 2016, in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was a born August 6, 1936 in Homestead, a son of the late John C. and Catherine (Welsh) Schweinberg and was also preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Margaret “Peg” Schweinberg, on April 18, 2016, and a sister Mary Elizabeth Schweinberg Miller and her husband Alan Miller.

Chick was a retired employee of Wyatt Constriction, Pittsburgh, a thirty three year member of Local 1451, Latrobe, and a longtime starter at Carradam Golf Course. He was a Navy veteran and along with his late wife Peg were the organizers of American Legion Post 53. He was also a member of the Wendel Herminie Athletic Association and the Italian Miners, Hahntown. He is survived by his sons John T. Schweinberg and his wife Sherry of Lowber, Joseph A. Schweinberg and Shawn C. Schweinberg both of Irwin; his grandchildren Krystal, Shawn David, Laurel and Brooke; his siblings, Thomas (Renee) Schweinberg of Arizona and Jane DiGangi of Jeannette; also nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank family friend and caregiver Jennifer Milko for all her kind and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 p.m. only on Thursday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
