San Juana "Juanita" Chuba, 76 of West Mifflin passed away on Saturday June 3, 2023.  She was born in Tampico, Mexico in 1947 and came to America at the age of 5.  She is the daughter of the late Andrea (Larraga) and Selicio Gutierrez and separated wife/friend of Michael J. Chuba.  She was the loving and devoted mother "Mama Juanita" to four children, her daughters, Deanna (Frank) DiPaolo, Alena (Tom) Grace; her sons Michael (Keely) Chuba and Tony (Amy) Chuba.  To her grandchildren, she was "Granny Neenee"; to Marla and Elisabeth DiPaolo, Gordon Grace, Juliana and Nathan Chuba, Tony Jr., Benjamin, Abigail and Hailey Chuba and great grandmother to August DiPaolo.  She was preceded in death by her brother Raul "Ralph" Gutierrez.  She is survived by her sisters Bertha Villa and Concha Gutierrez and many friends, nieces, nephews and neighbors who will miss her dearly.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from California University of Pa after raising her children.  Early in her career she worked as a social worker and later in life as a waitress.  Juanita's main job was loving and caring for her kids and doting over her grandchildren every chance she had.  She was an avid Steeler fan sporting the gear almost daily.  She enjoyed watching cooking shows, old movies and donating her famous enchiladas to local events in the community, family and friends.

She loved to laugh and spend time with her friends at the American Croation Club and Prince Humbert Club.  She also loved being a mother to her dogs Cheech, Chong and Chasey.  Our family would like to extend a special thanks to her cherished caregiver Penny Ghrist, who took great care of her.  Friends will be received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Thurs. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00, at which time a funeral blessing will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
