Helen (Kunes) Sawchak, age 93, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died peacefully on May 27, 2023, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth.  Born on February 16, 1930, in McKeesport, PA., she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Helen (Ruckman) Kunes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Steve Sawchak, and beloved brother and sister, Jack Kunes, and Jean Baird.  Helen was raised by her maternal grandparents, Jenny and James Ruckman of McKeesport.  She had many happy memories with her dearest cousin Loretta "Dolly" Booth.  Helen was proud of her McKeesport roots and had a special affection for the 10th Ward section of the city.  Helen was a member of Bridge City Church in White Oak.  She enjoyed her years of dedicated service in the bakery department of the North Versailles Giant Eagle.  She had great pride in her flowers, shrubs, and lawn.  Helen had an awe-inspiring gift of completing daily crossword puzzles and loved to shop and watch old movies.

Helen is survived by daughters, Stephanie (Joe) Budd, of White Oak, Kathleen (Tim) Shidel, of Allison Park, and Linda (Dr. Michael) Bennett, of North Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jessica (Karl) Schaefer, of Pittsburgh, Joey (Kristin) Budd, of Penn Twp., Hillary (Kyle Walread-Sullivan) Bennett, of Leesburg, VA, and Ryan (Hannah) Bennett, of Bethel Park; great-grandchildren, Blake Budd and Luke Walread-Sullivan.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins in West Virginia.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 2 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m.  Pastor Bob Fagin will officiate.  The burial will be private.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.  Chris Odasso, Supervisor
