G. Elaine (Lemon) Shoaf, 92, of Irwin, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born March 7, 1931 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Elmer G. and Gertrude V. (Davis) Lemon and was also preceded in death by her brother and sister in-law George and Sylvia Lemon, and brother in-law Bill Lawson.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin, Order of the Eastern Star. She was employed by Lutheran Social Services and was retired from Airtek. Elaine loved being a grandmother, enjoyed making Raggedy Ann Dolls, and she was a pet lover with a special fondness for dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years J. Wayne Shoaf; children Cynthia (Mel) Veverka of North Huntingdon and Jim (Kathy) Shoaf of Greensburg; grandchildren Caitlin (Nikolas) Janin, Kylie Hunter (Morgan Cross), Lauren (Mike) Goodlin, Emily (Brad) Whigham, and Matthew (Kristin) Shoaf; great grandchildren Siena, Stella, Colton, Dustin, Benson, Easton, Connor, and Everette; sister Mary Ellen Lawson of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Irwin.
