James S. Ashbaugh, age 77, of Jeannette, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was born April 20, 1939 in Fritz Henry in South Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Joseph S. and Genieve (Galvin) Ashbaugh. He was a past member of the Arona Church of the Nazarene and then attended the Circleville Church of the Nazarene in North Huntingdon.

He worked as a storeroom clerk and union representative at Swift and Lincoln Homes in Elizabeth for over 32 years, and then worked for over 12 years as a supervisor for the North Irwin Borough. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter in law Christine Ashbaugh. He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Rosalie (Savarino) Ashbaugh; children Melissa Kreiger of North Huntingdon, Samuel Ashbaugh of Paintertown, James (Cheryl) Ashbaugh Jr. of New Alexandria, Joseph (Antoinette) Ashbaugh of McKeesport and Mariam Trickle of Greensburg; grandchildren John, D.J., Amanda and Dillon Ashbaugh, M.J. and Matt Kreiger and Jimmy Krautz; great grandchildren John, Madison, Nick, Ava, Dominic, Blake and Emma; and sister Sarah (Dennis) Keller of New Eagle. Friends and family will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200 where everyone will gather at 11 a.m. Monday for a funeral service with Rev.
