Ruth Jean Lyons, age 93, of McKeesport, died November 8, 2022, at UPMC East. Born July 31, 1929, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late William George and Ruth (Dodds) Wisser and the wife of the late John Thomas Lyons.
Ruth dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of McKeesport, where she was involved with the Senior Achievers, Grief Share, and White Cross. Ruth was also a member of the Garden Club and Norwin Community Center. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and sewing. Ruth also cared for her health and environment. She would always tidy up her neighborhood during her walks in her early years. She will always be remembered for her famous homemade chicken noodle soup. Ruth's greatest joy was square dancing and round dancing with her beloved husband.

She is survived by her children, Ruth Anne Lyons of FL, John Arthur Lyons of White Oak, and Tammy (John Garbin) Wright of White Oak; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Richard Gerhardt) Criswell of FL, Pat Koontz of CA; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Betters.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, 9:30 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
