Joseph Nagy, age 82, of White Oak, died on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born in Glassport on April 6, 1940 and is the son of the late Joseph and Anna Skalski Nagy and the husband of the late I. Jean Shearer Nagy, who died on March 5, 1993. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA); McKeesport Sportsman’s Association; and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was employed and retired as a police officer for White Oak Borough. He also was a self-defense and firearms instructor for the McKeesport Sportsman’s Association and the White Oak Police Department and was a White Oak City Councilman for six years.

He is survived by his children, Patti (Bill) Simko of North Huntingdon; Ronald Nagy of Phillipsburg, KS; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, John (Marcie) Nagy of Port Vue; and Gerald Nagy of Port Vue.

In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Scott Nagy; and brother, James Nagy.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial with military honors will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Round Hill Cemetery.
