John Stanley Slinskey, age 89, of Dravosburg, died on Saturday, September 10, 2022. He was born in Pittsburgh on February 12, 1933, grew up in the South Side, and is the son of the late Stanley and Catherine Dudrick Slinskey. He served in the United States Army in the Armored Tank Division during the Korean War. After the war, he was employed as an insurance sales agent for John Hancock for 38 years. He loved spending time with his family, listening to easy listening music, and watching old Sherlock Holmes and Western movies. He was a very religious man, attended Mass often, and enjoyed serving as an altar boy in his youth.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia O’Connor Slinskey; children, Cindy (Greg) Babiak of North Huntingdon; Gary Slinskey of Dravosburg; Brian (Kim) Slinskey of Lehighton, PA; and grandchildren, Jennifer (Jared) Long; John Babiak; Lauren Slinskey; and Kaylin Slinskey.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, John Slinskey in 1968.

A family gathering and a blessing service was held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial followed.
