Sidney J. Goldberg, 92, of North Versailles died July 30, 2022 at his home.  Born in McKeesport, May 8, 1930, son of the late Edward and Eva Goldberg and husband of the late Judith Smith Goldberg, he is survived by his sister in law, Jeanne Lenhart of Delmont, also by nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard M. and Joseph J. Goldberg, brother in law, William J. Smith and sister in law, Janet Adams. He served in the U.S. Army for 17 months in the Far East during the Korean War.  His family was in business in McKeesport from 1906 to 1968, when he and his brother moved to North Versailles and operated Goldberg’s Men’s Clothes until Joseph’s death in 1982.  Mr. Goldberg operated the Gold Bug news mart until his retirement.  He was a member, officer, and board member of the Temple B’nai Israel, and a founder, officer, and board member of M.Y.A.R.C. for 20 years.  At his request, a graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Temple B’nai Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Howard Stein officiating.  Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.  Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
