Mary Ann (Wasil) Medved, age 89 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Riverside Nursing Center in McKeesport. Born August 20, 1927 in Ambridge, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Wasil and was raised by her aunt and uncle, John and Susan Wasil of McKeesport.

The owner of the former Tastee Cone in Elizabeth Twp., Mary Ann was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in McKeesport and the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #146 of Versailles, its Ladies' Club, and its Pensioneers. She joins her husband, the late Mate' Medved, who passed away April 5, 1997. Mary Ann is survived by her sons Bernard (Cathy) Medved of Elizabeth Twp., Matt (Debbie) Medved of East McKeesport, and Larry Medved of Liberty Borough; his grandchildren Lauren and Michael (Hillary) Medved; his sisters Helen Visokey of Phoenix, AZ and Nancy (James) Campbell of Ohio; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Church with Fr. Stephen Palsa officiating. Procession and burial will follow to Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.
