Marylee Simmons, age 82, of McKeesport, departed this life on January 28, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born April 16, 1939, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Daniel, Sr., and Lurline D. (Napper) Bull.

Marylee worked many places throughout her life, including Mercy Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping. She worked the polls at the municipal building of Crawford Village when it was time to vote, spreading her message of the importance of every vote. She was also a volunteer at the Food Bank. Marylee touched many lives, but none like her children, she was truly the matriarch of her family. She enjoyed holiday gatherings, cookouts, and spending time with her grandchildren. Marylee will be remembered to many as a neighborhood mom, always there to lend an ear or give some good advice. She will be deeply missed by all that know her.

Marylee is survived by her children, Alfreeman (Peggy) Simmons, Alfred "Marcus" Simmons, Yvette (Gregory) Robinson, Kennedy (Gina) Simmons, all of McKeesport, and Carlos (Darnesha) Simmons of Monroeville; 12 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren and the first great-great grandchild arriving soon; siblings, Michael (Lynette) Bull of Gary, IN, Glenn Bull of Clairton, Danielle Stokes of Penn Hills, Doreen Johnson of Jefferson Hills, Bruce Gordon of McKeesport, Theresa (Chester) Nesbit-Sutton of McKeesport; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marylee was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory R. Bull; siblings, Daniel Bull and Angela L. Bull Carr.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., in Zion Baptist Church, 1300 Locust St., McKeesport, PA 15132. Pastor Richard W. Truss will officiate.
