Velma Schwartz Feldman, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of White Oak, PA, died peacefully in her sleep on January 28, 2022 at the age of 92. Velma was born on April 30, 1929 in McKeesport, PA and was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Gelb Schwartz. She graduated from Miami High School and attended the University of Miami, FL before settling in her native McKeesport.

Velma’s passion in life was for her children and grandchildren. She had a warmth, endearing charm and infectious laugh. She had a love for shopping, knitting, reading, collecting art, and playing the piano. Beyond her family, her biggest gift was her green thumb, and no one could grow any plant better than Nanny.

Velma was lucky enough to be married to her husband Bud for 72 years and they enjoyed traveling and watching movies together in the evening. In addition to her husband, she will be greatly missed by her two children, Bruce (Sally) Feldman; Robin (Hal) Miller; grandchildren, Judd (Lori) Feldman; Joshua (Erin) Feldman; Jake Feldman; Rachel Feldman; Lauren (Kyle) Roberts; and Jamie Miller. Also, she was lucky enough to enjoy and get to know her great-grandchildren, Lily Feldman; Reese Feldman; Gwen Feldman; Charlie Feldman; Will Feldman; Sam Feldman; Hannah Roberts; and Morgan Roberts. In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her brother, Lieutenant Fred Schwartz. We will miss you, Nanny.
