Robert “Carrots” Kurtz Boyd, age 68, of McKeesport lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.  He was born in Clairton on February 25, 1953 and is the son of the late Grace Litman Knight and his stepfather the late Clifford Knight and his father, the late William Boyd.  He attended Clairton School District where he played high school football and graduated in 1971.

He had associate degrees in both Architectural Drafting and Electronics and became a self-contracted electrician until he retired. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and received an honorable discharge.

One of his greatest joys was playing pool and being part of several pool leagues, where he made many friends and lasting memories. He was also an avid dog lover who enjoyed the company of his furry companions and will now be reunited with them once again. Robert will be sadly missed by those who knew him.

Burial will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
