James Joseph Walsh, age 89, of Port Vue, died, September 17, 2021, at home. Born September 17, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James "Red" and Blanche (Wintermeyer) Walsh and the husband of Eleanor R. (Whitehead) Walsh for 65 years.
James retired from US Steel, Duquesne Works, where he was a steelworker. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. James was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post #447. He loved all Pittsburgh sports, and in his early years, coached baseball for the American Legion teams.

James is survived by his children, William (Michele) Walsh of Port Vue, Cindy (Louis) Bongyor of North Versailles, and Vicki (Barry) Ostroff of Liberty Borough; grandchildren, Louis, James, Tricia, Elyse, Brett, Justin and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Noah, Charli, Aiden, Jack, Arianna, Giada, and Tovin; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, James was also preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia Balint, Shirley Mae Walsh and William Walsh.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
