Aldia (Desrosier) Pavlik of Clairton passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at home at the age of 98.

Aldia was born in Crookston, MN on February 19, 1923 to Joseph David and Mary Ann (Delorme) Desrosier.  She met her husband William G. at a nightclub in Saginaw, MI. while he was on leave in Bay City, MI., from the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.  They were married on September 15, 1945 and celebrated 59 years together before his passing on January 3, 2005.  Aldia was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish – St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton and was a faithful watcher of the Catholic Mass on television when she was no longer able to physically attend Mass.  Her hobbies through the years included knitting, sewing, tailoring, making doll houses, and upholstering.

Aldia is survived by her five children: Gary (the late Nancy James), Carol, Kay Morrison (David), William (Rosanne) and Martin (Mary Zabela); her 8 grandchildren: Emily (Bart) Kneip, Meriel (Forrest) Bowman, Alex Pavlik, Janet Morrison, Kerry Morrison, Billy (Kati) Morrison, Megan (Vincent) Barone, and Brandon (Laura Nickolich) Pavlik; and her 9 great-grandchildren: Madelyn Kneip, Cole Kneip, Townsend Bowman, Anderson Bowman, Avery Morrison, Giavonna Barone, Lilliana Barone, Liam Mizak, and Layla Pavlik. Also surviving is one sister, Marcie Austin; brother Ted (Peggy) Desrosier; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Desrosier, Ann Henderson, and Nancy Pavlik; as well as many nieces and nephews.  The family wants to gratefully acknowledge the support and care provided by Vitas Healthcare, especially Kelly and Tabitha, that enabled mom to be in her home over these past six months.

Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 1 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM In the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700).  At the family's request, all attendees are asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status; this request will be in place at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish – St. Clare of Assisi Church.  Burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, it would please our mom that any remembrances could be made in the name of her great-grandson, Townsend Bowman: The Brighton Center- Attn: Brook Schriewer, 14207 Higgins Rd., San Antonio, TX 78217.
