Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 20, 2021

Lois J Carey, age 90, of McKeesport, died July 18, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 11, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (King) Scott.

Lois was a strong, hardworking woman who retired from cleaning homes at the age of 88. She was well known for her famous cheesy potatoes and her "one of a kind" baking skills, especially her Baklava. She's always had a niche for sewing and crocheting handmade gifts for her family, which they cherish dearly. Her cats and dogs were her world as she selflessly devoted all of her time to make sure they were happy. She was the "glue of the family" and will be missed dearly by all.

She is survived by children, John (Marcia) Bishop, of McKeesport, Jack (the late Rose) Bishop, of Monessen, David Bishop, of Fort Myers, FL, and Tammy Kustra, of McKeesport; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jean Bishop; brother Delbert Scott, of West Mifflin; sister-in-law, Diana Scott and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sons Martin Bishop, Jr. and Larry Bishop; brothers, Donald, Jack, Malcolm, William, Grant, and Barton Scott.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m.
Entombment will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
