Paula A Shufran, age 63, of North Versailles, passed away shortly after midnight on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from complications due to pneumonia.  She was born in McKeesport on September 13, 1957 and is the daughter of the late Stephen and Wilda G. McGonigal Shufran.

She is survived by her son, Andrew Stephen Fletcher of North Versailles; brothers, Timothy (Lou Ann) Shufran of Virginia and Clyde (Claudia) Shufran of Arizona; sisters, Cathy (Bill) Koesters of Cincinnati, Ohio and Marlene Stabile of North Huntingdon; also, 1 grandchild.

She was known for her powerful personal presence and free-spirited nature.  Those who took time to know her appreciated her natural intelligence, compassion for those in need, and love of nature.  She possessed a great writing ability and clarity of expression.

During her retirement she took care of her father who suffered from Alzheimer’s dementia until his passing in 2016.  The last 4 years of her life were spent helping herself, others and growing closer to her son, Andrew.  Paula and her son had a relationship that touched and inspired many others struggling in recovery.  She will continue to live on through her son who loves and misses her dearly.
