Walter Woods Kunkle, age 95, of White Oak, died May 17, 2021, at home.  Born March 27, 1926, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Herman and Mamie (Kim) Kunkle, and husband of Donna Holshue, who died minutes before him.

Walter was retired from Laidlaw International Inc., where he was a school bus driver.  He was a US Navy veteran serving during World War II. Walter was a White Oak Volunteer Fireman with over 70 years of community service. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post # 701, Guffey Club, and Moose Lodge of Kane, PA. Walter was an avid NASCAR racing, and the Price Is Right game show fan. Although, he especially enjoyed caring for his home and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by step-children, Linda "Petey" (Tom) Hall, and William (Daneen) Holshue; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Casey (Amber), Calsey (Oliver), and Carisa; great-grandchildren; Gavin and Spencer; niece, Karen Shivley; nephew, Fred (Andrea) Brandtz.

In addition to his wife and parents, Walter was also preceded in death by his sister, Marian Brandtz and great-grandson, Maxwell.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 2-8 p.m.  A funeral service for him and his wife Donna will be on Friday, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers, military honors, and burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
